Raphinha and Dani Alves Makes Brazil’s World Cup squad

One of the two favourites for the 2022 World Cup, Brazil, are the first ones to announce the squad for the tournament. It is a 26-man list, as the regulations ordered, featuring some of the most talented footballers in world football.

Barcelona’s Raphinha makes the cut for the team, as one would expect him to. The former Leeds United man is the first-choice right-winger for Brazil, if pre-tournament games are anything to go by.

There is a bit of a surprise there, too, with Dani Alves invited to the final squad. The legendary right-back played for Barcelona from January to May, but his contract was not extended by the club.

Following that, Alves joined Mexican side Pumas, and has been training with the Barcelona reserves side for the last few weeks to keep himself fit for the World Cup.

Now 39, this would be Alves’ third World Cup. He participated in the 2010 and 2014 editions of the tournament, but missed the 2018 one.
