Rooney Reveals Country That’ll Win 2022 World Cup in Qatar

Manchester United legend, Wayne Rooney has named Argentina as the favourite country to win the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Rooney said that Argentina have solid players, including Lionel Messi, that will help them win the World Cup this year.

According to him, Argentina will be full of confidence following their Copa America triumph last year, adding that they will be dangerous during the tournament.

Argentina are in Group C alongside Mexico, Poland and Saudi Arabia.

This year’s World Cup will begin on Sunday, November 20, with host nation Qatar facing Ecuador.

“For me, Argentina are the favourites. Unlike in 2018, they’ve plenty of good, solid players around Lionel Messi such as Lautaro Martínez, Paredes, De Paul and of course Di Maria,” Rooney told The Times.

“Winning the Copa America last year will have given them confidence and has taken a bit of pressure off them. The climate will suit them too.

“The only thing they’re missing is a No 9, that focal point in attack, but I think they’ll be really dangerous.”
