[STORY] DIARY OF A MAD IGBO WOMAN (Episode 02)

Episode 02.

“Who is that beautiful formidable lady that has been typing on that laptop for ten hours now?”. Bayo nudged Emy.

“Shhhhhhh. That is the general head of departments. She has been working here in your father’s company for six years now, the period you were still doing your pilot business. She is the most hardworking and reliable worker in Fortune company”.

“Her identity?”.

“Her name is Adaeze Nwankwo. She is thirty two years old”.

“Thirty two? She looks twenty two”.

“I heard she takes very good care of her skin and does exercises to stay fit”.

Bayo nodded thoughtfully. “She is obviously in a relationship”.

“I heard that her Yoruba boyfriend dumbed her seven years ago but I don’t know the full detail”.

Bayo gasped. “Yoruba? So that means she will automatically hate every other Yoruba man that comes her way and think that all Yoruba men are the same?”.

“You have a crush on an Igbo woman?Are you up to the task? Those women are strong hearted”.

He stared closely at her. “She doesn’t look that strong hearted”.

“Why don’t you go and give it a try?”.

“Yes, afterall I am the soon to be CEO of the company she is working in”.

“No use Igberaga(pride) go meet that kind woman. A broken woman needs a simple man”.

“Oh! That reminds me! Emeka, you are an Igbo man. Tell me how you approach an Igbo woman”.

Emy cleared his throat. “You see, Igbo women love it when they are praised. Sing praises to her and you will see her smile”.

“Gotcha!”. Bayo winked at him and moved towards Adaeze’s desk. “Hi beautiful! My name is Abayomi Adedeji and I was so amazed at that dedicated fingers of yours that has been dealing with the laptop keypads for hours. Damsels like you are expected to be in the moon without adding any unnecessary stress to their busy day”.

She ignores him and continued clicking her keypads.

“Hello?”he touched her and before he knew what was happening, he found himself on the floor.

She rose to her feet and glared at him. “The next time you see me and you talk to me about anything aside company affairs, you will have yourself to blame”. She sat back to continue on her laptop.

Emeka rushed to lift him to his feet but he pushed him away and fumed at him. “Singing praises for real, Emeka? Emeka, you are a devil”.

Emeka stifled laughter.

She unlocked her house and stepped in.

She switched on the light and turned on the television as she took off her shoes.

There was a news update that some customers had complained about some expired milk that they had bought from Sparkles company.

It was time for Fortune company to rise to stardom.

Her phone rang. It was from Fred Bakare’s prison warden.

She connected the line and placed the call on loud speaker while she left her phone on the bed and took off her clothes. “How far with it?”.

“He was successfully stabbed, this time on his left rib”.

She smiled to herself. “You guys are doing a good job. But I am surprised that after all the stabbings, the bastard does not want to commit suicide”.

“He will, very soon”.

She disconnected the line.

Her phone rang again.
This time it was Mr Adewale Adedeji.

Her boss.

She had helped him solve company matters and even dirty matters for six years.

The only thing that she has not done for him was kill anyone.

But in matters of implicating other companies to save his company, she was the one that had committed all those atrocities for him.

“Hello sir”. She said as she connected the line and placed the phone on her ear, supporting it with her left shoulder.

“Ada, you are going to commit another atrocity for me”.

“Speak on sir”

“You are going to help me kill someone”
