[STORY] DEADLY DESIRE (Episode 12)

Episode 12.

Nosa and Nicole went to a club to have fun. This was not the first time both of them would go clubbing. It was another life entirely for Nosa. Nicole was used to such life.

Nicole was the one spending the money. Nosa discovered Nicole could drink and smoke. He watched in wonder as she emptied several bottles of beer in her mouth. Before they left the club Nicole was already drunk. Nosa carried her in his car, then drove to her house.

It was 4:32am by the time the security man opened the gate.

Eghosa who was preparing to go out for early morning cry watched how Nosa brought out his Boss from the car. Concerned he went to assist him. Both of them carried her to the bedroom.

Exhausted, Nosa sat in the living room. Eghosa took a seat opposite him and glared at him.

“What?” Nosa asked.

“What is what?” Responded Eghosa.

“You watched her get drunk and you did nothing about it” He queried “I have been meaning to tell you sir that the life you live doesn’t glorify God. Your action doesn’t depict it ”

Nosa shook his head in annoyance. He was not ready to put up with this act.

“Who are you to judge me? You have no right to talk to me in this manner. I will make sure that you are sacked” He threatened.

“I have no problem with being sacked sir, but I want you to know that the wages of sin is death. You should retrace your steps back to God. You are a married man sir, please stick to your wife”

“The way I live my life shouldn’t concern you”

Visibly shaken, Nosa stood up picked his car key and left the compound. Eghosa stood up too. He saw the maid coming out of the room.

” I heard what you told him and you’re right”

“I can’t stop saying the truth. People don’t like the truth, but it has to be told”

“Hmmm! Madam will not like it oo but she has to stop sleeping with a married man. There is no way God will give her a husband when she is destroying another woman’s marriage. Her marital blessing will never come.

Both of them looked at the stairs whether Nicole was coming but she wasn’t.

“I have to start praying that God should make them see the wrong way they are headed to”

The maid watched him open the door and leave. She shook her head and entered the kitchen.

Itohan and her children just finished morning devotion, when Nosa drove in. He was looking exhausted. After responding to her greetings he crashed on the chair in the sitting room. He slept for hours. When he woke, he demanded for food.

He was already eating when his phone started ringing. He looked at the caller identity, then dropped his spoon and went outside to receive the call. He walked close to the gate before answering his call.

“I thought you will be here when I wake” Nicole told him.

“I am sorry. I had to rush home to tidy up somethings” He said.

“When are you coming”

“Not today Nicole. I need to spend some time with my wife and my kids”

Nicole said nothing for a while. Both of them glued the phone to their ears.

“When am I seeing you?” She asked.

“When I am less busy?”

“What do you mean when you are less busy? Don’t I deserve to spend the weekend with you?”

“Nicole please I need you to understand that I am married. You know I can’t keep lying to my wife. I just left your place. I will see you when I want to” He said.

Nicole cut the call. Nosa stood on a spot for sometime muttering to himself before walking into the house. Itohan already had a questionable look on her face.

“Why you no answer the call for here? So this house too small to answer call abi?”

Nosa looked at her then sat on the dinning table to eat.

“I no be small pikin Nosa. At least my first pikin don finish secondary school. You think sey you fit deceive me abi?”

Nosa laughed.

“Wetin?”

“You don dey follow woman abi?”

“Please stop! I go out to hustle to make life better for us and here you are accusing me of infidelity?”

He pushed the plate of rice away and stood up from the chair in annoyance.

“I will not take shit from you”

Itohan was perplexed. She watched him enter the bedroom and banged the door. She was afraid. She has never seen him like this. Maybe he was stressed, she thought. She pushed the door gently and entered the bedroom. Nosa sat on the bed pressing his phone.

“No vex!” She apologized “Na the way you leave your food go answer call nai make me sey you don dey carry woman. No vex you hear?”

Nosa said nothing. Itohan sat down beside him on the bed and tried to touch him. He pushed her away and she landed on the floor. Itohan screamed! but he picked his car key from the bed and left the house. He drove straight to Nicole’s where he spent the weekend with her.

Nicole sat in her newly acquired office. She was a Boss lady. Uyi sat drinking there. She had invited him on purpose. She watched him drink. She loves alcohol but she doesn’t drink as much as Uyi.

“You want more drink?” She asked.

“No!” He said

Nicole smiled. She watched him silently drinks in gulps.

“I called you for a reason Uyi”

“Umh mm!”

“Yes”

“Nosa is now mine” She told him.

“I knew you have always craved for him”

Nicole laughed.

“When you love someone you go all out to show it. I have shown and proved how much I love him”

Uyi nodded.

“So why am I here”

“You have been of help to me. You have been supportive emotionally”

Uyi laughed.

“And I compensated you well”

“Well….!” He shrugged his shoulder.

“Whatever is between us is over” She said frowning “I will never hesitate to assist you where necessary. I don’t want you in my house unannounced. No sex relationship between us”

“Did Nosa ask you to say this to me?”

“No! no. Leave him out of this. He knows nothing. He doesn’t know we have been sleeping with each other and I want it to remain so. Please don’t be offended. I love Nosa and he is the only one I see.

Uyi was already offended. He felt used. He felt Nosa engineered the whole thing. Uyi picked the bottle of beer and continues drinking as if nobody said anything. He was lost in thought. He didn’t see Nicole sit in front of him, neither did anything in the office exist.

He was carried away by anger, hatred and bitterness. He dropped the empty bottle on the table and walked out without saying goodbye to Nicole.

“I am really sorry Uyi” Nicole whispered.
