Rihanna headlining Super Bowl Halftime Show 2023
Rihanna has confirmed she will headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show 2023 after weeks of speculation.
The Umbrella hitmaker, 34, announced her exciting return by simply sharing a photo of herself holding an American football upright on her Instagram feed, and there was no caption necessary.
The NFL, Roc Nation, and new halftime show sponsor Apple Music also shared the news that Rihanna has been booked for the world-renowned slot at State Farm Stadium.
Rihanna’s Super Bowl gig will be her first live performance in five years, as she last took to the stage with DJ Khaled and Bryson Tiller at the Grammy Awards in 2018.
Fans are already going wild for the announcement, with one writing on social media: ‘RIHANNA IS OFFICIALLY HEADLINING THE 2023 SUPER BOWL HALFTIME SHOW PERFORMANCE EVERYONE BETTER BE READY CAUSE MOTHER IS COMING.’
Echoing a similar sentiment, another penned: ‘Imagine staying away from music for 6 years and announcing your comeback through Super Bowl??!!. Rihanna is my favourite superstar please.’

Others are convinced that this Super Bowl gig means new music from Rihanna is finally on the way.
‘I feel like Rihanna is about to drop the hottest new album of all time before the Super Bowl half time show,’ one predicted.
‘SUPER BOWL PERFORMANCE PROBABLY MEANS NEW MUSIC FROM RIHANNA WE MADE IT YALL,’ said another.
Fans have been begging Rihanna for a new album for years now and while she did assure us in February that music is coming, we’re still waiting with bated breath.
She told Entertainment Tonight at the time: ‘Well, yes. You’re still going to get music from me.’
The news of Rihanna’s set comes just days after NFL confirmed that Apple Music has replaced Pepsi as their newest partner for the show, with the Super Bowl final set to take place in Glendale, Arizona, on February 12.
‘We are proud to welcome Apple Music to the NFL family as our new partner for the iconic Super Bowl Halftime Show,’ Nana-Yaw Asamoah, SVP of Partner Strategy for the NFL, said in a statement.
‘We couldn’t think of a more appropriate partner for the world’s most-watched musical performance than Apple Music, a service that entertains, inspires, and motivates millions of people around the world through the intersection of music and technology.’
The announcement had many Taylor Swift fans convinced that she would be headlining the Super Bowl.
Rihanna’s Super Bowl debut will follow Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, Eminem and 50 Cent’s unforgettable performance at this year’s NFL championship final.
Their show attracted over 120million viewers and scooped three Emmys. No presh, RiRi!
