All Players Signed, Left Barcelona During Summer Transfer Window 22/23
The 2022 summer transfer was a hell of a surprise to every football lovers in the world as FC Barcelona took everyone by surprise to break past the stigma of ‘broke-shaming’ by football critics all over the world.
From Broke-arlona to an unexpected Rich-arlona, courtesy of Laporta and Alemany -even though it took them series of “levers activation” to get them to that status, at least, they won almost everyone’s (fans) heart aside Chelsea and Real Madrid‘s, Chelsea most especially whom got served back-to-back. Some even said Xavi taunted Thomas Tuchel and was his [Tuchel‘s] perfect nightmare during the transfer as it seems almost all the player he wants, Xavi wants it, too. Kinda like Xavi was spying on his transfer list.
Hypothetically, aside Haaland‘s move to Manchester City, and Gabriel Jesus to Arsenal, Barcelona was the major talk of the transfer market of the 2022/23 summer transfer. So, let’s quickly run through players that FC Barcelona signed and let loose, too.
IN ✅
Lewandowski
Robert Lewandowski to FC Barcelona was one of the unexpected transfer in the summer transfer, just like Leo Messi to PSG. Who could have ever imagine the same Lewandowski that was amongst ‘the Bayern’s 8-2 team’ that destroyed FC Barcelona would ever come back to join the same club, quite unbelievable isn’t it? Oh, it’s football, unexpected things can happen.
The 34-year-old Robert Lewandowski was signed from FC Bayern Munich to FC Barcelona at the whooping rate of €50 million. Well, it’s worth it. Lewandowski has been on fire for FC Barcelona, even though it took him two games to record his first goals with the club, he’s got 5 goals so far with 2 man of the match.
Raphinha
Raphinha‘s deal is another one of the most unexpected transfer for FC Barcrelona this summer, despite the Chelsea‘s persuasion to sign the Brazilian star, Barcelona still got him signed!
Raphael Dias Belloli, better known as Raphinha, was signed to FC Barcelona from Leeds United at the rate of £55m. Quite fair, he’s so far been a perfect pair with Ousmane Dembélé. Some even predicted him to be the next Ronaldinho at FC Barcelona -although from the wing and not midfield. Either way, it was a good deal for the 25-year-old star.
Kounde
Chelsea was interested too, but he was hijacked by Joan Laporta and Mateu Alemany Font. All the way from Sevilla to FC Barcelona, the centre-back has been rumoured to become the perfect pair with Ronald Araújo, while we keep our fingers crossed and see how it turns out at the end of the season it is important to note that both players had a perfect combo against Real Valladolid’s 4-0 win last weekend.
The 23-year-old center-back was signed from Sevilla at the rate of €55 million.
Franck Kessié
Another fantastic deal by FC Barcelona. Truth is, Barcelona almost doesn’t need additional midfielder, but treading from the angle of strength and maybe, ‘experience,’ it’s thinkable. I mean, the club already had youngsters like, De Jong, Pedri, Gavi and even 32-year-old Pjanic gracing the middle field for them. However, #Xaviball does think he needs to keep his team competitive by having subordinates for each wing, quite cool.
Franck Kessié was signed from AC Milan for FREE as a Free Agent. The midfielder agreed a contract until 2026 with a release clause of €500 million.
Christensen
All the way from Chelsea to FC Barcelona. Andreas Christensen is another player signed to FC Barcelona for FREE. The Danish player was signed when he was a Free Agent at Chelsea FC after the 2021/22 season.
Bellerin
From FC Barcelona (La Masia) to Arsenal, to Real Betis (on loan) then finally back to FC Barcelona in 2022. Héctor Bellerín is another player signed into FC Barcelona’s #Xaviball’s project. The Spanish player was re-signed to FC Barcelona after touring England with Arsenal, and Spain with Betis on loan.
Bellerin plays as a right-back or wing-back. He was signed to FC Barcelona for FREE.
Alonso
Envisioned to replace Jordi Alba, Marcos Alonso all the way from Chelsea is another player signed into FC Barcelona for FREE.
Some said Xavi is recruiting Spanish players to build Spain Football Team. Well, you might be right. But yeah, this really isn’t a new thing. Clubs have been known to recruit more of players from their home-country, so kindly slice him some slack.
Pablo Torre
From Racing Santander to FC Barcelona, Pablo Torre was signed to the club for 5m euros.
