[STORY] TIMISIRE THE GOLDEN GIRL (Episode 28)
Episode 28.
As Rereloluwa looked around, there was no traces of Timisire. Everywhere was bursting with activity. Rere looked around hoping to find a clue, but there was none. She was hoping Timisire was somewhere close and would recognize her. She was hoping for an emotional reunion but nothing close to her thoughts was materialising.
Rereloluwa sighted a woman roasting corn. It wasn’t going to be out of the ordinary if she asked her about Timisire. She was sure she would have witnessed whatever happened to Timisire.
Rereloluwa approached the woman.
” Good Evening ma!” Rereloluwa greeted

Sandy was eating dinner in misery. Harry could see she was unhappy.
” If adoption is what you want, it is fine” Harry said finally giving up
Sandy looked up, she didn’t believe she had won.
” What do you mean?”
” Exactly what you heard. Since I can’t have a happy wife unless she has a baby, I guess I have to come down to your faith level”
” Harry, this is not about my faith level, this is about reality.. We have been desiring to have our own child for 10 years and there are motherless children everywhere we can give love. There are children out there who needs parents, let’s pick one. I believe like you always say that we will have our own child, but while we await his or her arrival, can we get busy?”
” Alright, make the enquiries and let me know what it takes”
” I already have”
” Ok?”
” I know the perfect place to adopt a child”
” Where?”
” The Lighthouse..”
” Where is that?”
” You remember that children and Teenage ministry I send support to every holiday.”
” Oh! Do they run an orphanage? I thought they just pick Children from the streets to minister to them and parents also send their children there for camps”
“Yes, but recently, people have started dropping babies at their doorstep and they have received approval to run an orphanage by the side. Babe, getting a child from there will be perfect because they run the children through Spiritual fire, I am sure of the spiritual well-being and foundation of any child we get from there.”
” Ok, sounds cool”
” So, when are we going there?”
” We? You should go and bring the baby home”
” Noooo, we will go together, I want us both to pick the child God wants to pick.”
” Ok, fix the time and let me know”
Sandy’s bubbly countenance had been restored, she left her side of the table , rushed to Harry and bathed him with so much kisses…
” Thank you! Thank you so much!’ Sandy could not hide her excitement.
” Time to get to work!” Sandy packed her food. She was suddenly filled up…
******
Sandy was dialing Madam Favour’s line, but she suddenly remembered something she needed to do first; There was someone she needed to call…
Who?
Rereloluwa
Rereloluwa was her classmate back in the university. They were miles apart, but they had become good friends. Something brought them closer than they were back in school…
You guessed right!
Infertility!
They had reunited at an alumni event. One talk led to the other and they realized they both were looking up to God for the fruit of the womb and didn’t mind adoption.
As their friendship grew, they have been waiting for the right opportunity to adopt a child, but both of their partners were proving hard.
Sandy therefore thought since the opportunity had presented itself, it would be selfish of her not to reach out to Rere.
****
Rereloluwa felt like a failure. The corn seller and every other person she had asked had confirmed seeing Timisire but didn’t know her whereabouts.
” Maybe this is why God has not given me a child all this while, he gave us Timisire and I could not protect her” Rere said loudly as tears dropped uncontrollably..
Ifeoluwa was seated caved in… Rereloluwa had returned 30 minutes earlier without Timisire and without saying anything to him, she kept blaming herself for Timisire’s disappearance…
” Rere, this is my fault not yours” Ifeoluwa finally found strength to speak…
” Yes… Your fault and my fault… we don’t deserve to be parents ..”
Rere’s phone rang… As expected, she thought it was Timisire. She hurriedly reached for the phone and for the umpteenth time that day, she was disappointed…
It was her friend Sandy calling and she was not in the mood for girls’ talk..
