[STORY] MY INFERIOR HUSBAND (Episode 18)

Episode 18.

My parents were the only people that was left for me in the hospital. They were surprised on how I got pregnant and could not tell them till I gave birth and had to visit me to confirm. I could not give any detailed information or excuse for my mistake.

I was left with the greatest question on ‘Where is my baby father’ I could not answer the question but was rather crying because I knew I made a very big mistake and could not bring myself to say that in the hospital for now. My parents understood and kept quiet.

I was discharged a week after. Ikechukwu came with his mother and new wife to greet me while in the hospital. The mother could not deny my son due to the striking resemblance between her son and mine.

My mother was in the hospital when they visited and this almost led to fight between the two women as Ikechukwu’s mother was just ranting that it was my carelessness that brought my son and was I supposed to give birth out of wedlock if not that I got a bad home training. My mother replied and told her if she has also taught her son would he not have zipped his trouser and not disgraced her also. This resulted into serious fight as both mother were just exchanging words on how we both failed them due to our failed training,while this was going on the wife was telling me, her husband has nothing to do with my son and I replied I do not need any of their support to train my son .

Ikechukwu was just looking at the baby while this was going on and was crying ,even though I did not ask and did not care because I told him not to touch the child .I was really angry with him for leaving me alone to face all these alone .

They finally left after an jour of fighting and exchanging words with each other. Ikechukwu came alone the following day and was begging my mother that it was not his fault for deserting his child but the situation was more than he could control, I wanted to reply but my mother shut me off by saying it was my stupidity that led us here . He wanted to hold the boy but I told him he could not. He begged and begged to allow him hold the baby even if it was for just a minute. I rejected at least I had control over my son just like his mother did. I knew he was pained as all he could do was to look at his first seed in my mother’s hand but my pain was more than his .

I knew he was truly remorseful but his remorsefulness could do nothing as I already decided my son was never going to have anything to do with him.

I received alert from his mother after she told me it was for the naming as she would want her first grandchild to have an elaborate naming irrespective of where it came from as she could not deny the baby was truly her son’s own. I wanted to send back the money but my mother rejected and told me to keep it as I would need money as a new mother and my son deserved the money if he could not deserved his father. On a second thought I knew she was true and I would be cheating my son by rejecting the money.

Ikechukwu visited throughout my stay in the hospital and begged each time to hold his son which I always reject and told him I had the control over my own child.

I knew my parents were angry but they would forgive me with time as I was already with another problem and responsibility of a new baby. My mother stood by me even when my father got angry and returned home.

I was surprised on the naming day as my mother did all the planning even though I forwarded the money I was given to her . I thought my father would not come but he came with my siblings and I was met with a greater shock when I saw Ikechukwu with his parents at the naming. I knew I could not deny him the right to touch his son today. I was just praying that the day would go well without both parties fighting.

The day went well as Ikechukwu provided the name he wanted his son to bear but I rejected it and told him he had no right to name my son. I named him Elijah as opposed to Victor and Chukwu he wanted. His mother was angry and comforted me by asking why I changed the names they gave him and I told her I had control over my son just as she told me then.

I greeted my father and he was happy and wanted to hold the baby which my mother gave him. He told me he was angry with me and not my son. He was happy when he held the baby. My siblings all came and congratulated me ,they told me even if my son’s father rejected me,I still have a family that would still accept me no matter what. I was truly blessed with a family that loved me with all my flaws.

Ikechukwu’s mother called me the following day that she had a deal for me and would like us to meet after am medically okay. I wanted to decline but I also wanted to know what she has in stock for me.

I told my mother what I was told as she was still with me and she told me if I was going, I should not go with her grandson .

I wondered on what she would want to see me for but I could not conclude.
