Episode 17.

It was during the week, I got a call from an unknown number . it turned out to be IK’s mother and told me they will like to see me as they have finally decided on what to do.

I was told to come over the following week to her town,I told her I could not come as I did not want to have anything to do with them . She told me this was time to settle everything and I told her I would consider but not yet a promise.

I did all these to see what would become of my pregnancy.

I decided not to visit home until I had my baby as it was late for any removal . I knew I was going to break my parent’s heart but there was anything I could do ,it was late .

I was angry that Ikechukwu could turn back his back at me like that after all his promises,I guess that were all empty promises.

I decided to meet up with them as agreed the following week. We agreed to meet at Ikechukwu’s parents house.

I was told I was only allowed because of their child that was growing in me and not because of any reason. Ikechukwu’s mother told me I was trying to prove to her that I was stubborn but she has proven to me that she was the controller and decide what happens.
She was only interested in the child and that certain amount would be paid into my account every month so as to cater for the pregnancy and I should cut all ties with her son . I wanted to reject but on a second thought accepted it because I needed money to care for the pregnancy after I lost my job .

I could not get a new job recently because of my condition. It was during the meeting I was given an invitation card for Ikechukwu wedding to the lady they wanted him to marry .

I went back home ,different thoughts came to my mind about how I could disrupt the day but I just could not do it. Ikechukwu finally got married to his parents choice for him and he could not fight for us. His marriage was the talk of the town , they were both rich and had a rich parents. I wanted to call Ikechukwu and tell him my mind but I guess it was not needed as he could not call and that mean only one thing, he has decided to let go and did not want to talk to me.

I thought he would be man enough to face me and tell me what I did, what went wrong, why he decided to treat me the way he did,why he decided to leave the responsibility of two people for me when he was a man but he wasn’t bold for that

He had cut all form of communication between us even on his social media, I was block. It was really heartbreaking to see someone that cared for you once now an enemy that does not want to have anything to do with you even when you people had a connection which was the pregnancy.

I knew I was going to get d*pressed if care was not taken and decided to visit one of my friends to have a companion till I could get the courage to tell my family about my current situation as I could not muster the courage to face my parents. My parents would be mad with me if they found out what my stupidity caused me .

I wished love and desperation to marry has not blinded me into accepting his offer which is leading me to become a single mother which could make it more difficult to find another man. I sometimes wished I could change some of my decisions but alas it was too late for that. I had already burn my finger with the fire of my mistake.

I knew I was at fault for accepting to get pregnant but it was all in the past and there was little or nothing I could do than to accept my cross.

It was during this period, Ikechukwu called and was begging me he was sorry and that he was forced by his parents and he had no choice than to do their bidding as he was been threatened to be disowned by his parents. I was angry but I decided to bottle all my pains and told him, it was not of any important telling me that. I ended the call immediately because I knew I could open up to my pains . My friend had to console me .

His mother was the one in charge of sending me money . I knew I had to search for a job after I have given birth as I wanted to cut off all ties with her and her family, I was in a tight situation and a beggar has no choice, I could not afford to go hungry and not buy my baby things.

I promise to love my child as he was not responsible for my mistake.

Nine months came and I had a little complications that Ikechukwu had to be called as he was my custodian and a male figure had to sign for a Csection. I was having difficult giving birth. He came immediately he was called and paid for the operation and I was operated on,it was during my delivery, my parents came to my house and my neighbors told them I was in the hospital as I had gone into labor.

My parents visited the hospital to confirm what they heard .I was unconscious when they came .

I woke up to found out I had given birth to a male child and Ikechukwu had already gone back immediately he confirmed the gender of the baby. I was left on how I was going to explain my situation to them.

To be continued… . . .
