[STORY] MY INFERIOR HUSBAND (Episode 12)

Episode 12.

After the kidney donation, my condition was getting better and also was Deji . I was forever grateful to Deji for saving my life,it was not easy to donate one’s organ for another to live. It was really a surprising thing that he could do me a favor after what happened .

My family was so grateful to Deji and his family. Ikechukwu could not express his gratitude enough. I was happy I was giving another opportunity to life and this I promised to use to help humanity especially women.

I got so well fast as I was surrounded with my family, Ikechukwu and the women. I was really taken care of with Deji too.

I decided never to joke with God and also with my health. It was really God that saved me after joking seriously with my health.

Ikechukwu came with his younger ones to greet me while I was in the hospital. He continued to show me what love and care was. There was any day that he does not visit me even with his busy schedule.

I was to be discharged after a month so as to check my healing progress. I was welcome with something very beautiful the day I was to be discharged.

Ikechukwu proposed that day and I said yes because I had always expected this question even before I was sick and I wanted to spend my life with him even with his sacrifice during my trial period.

After I was discharged, I went back to work even though I had already finished my serving year. I was just helping young women to find their voice as I hated a society where women were shut off and men only speak.

Deji and I became close friends and cousin after his great show of humanity as a part of him was in me,his organ was in my body. We became so close that we knew virtually everything about each other, relationship, pain etc

We dated for 6 months after before I visited his parents because of my health as I was just recovering then. I had my reservation about his parents, our tribe difference but he assured me it was going to be alright.

I had informed Deji about the latest development and he was assuring me they would all accept me as it was not hard to love .

We both agreed on a day to visit his parents and the day finally came, I brought a lot of gifts to give them. I was so anxious and afraid because I was not sure of what I could face or encounter with his parents even though I was familiar with his siblings. Deji called me throughout the journey to keep reassuring me it was going to come out well.

Immediately his parents saw me, his father accepted me without any hesitation while his mother could not hide her displeasure.

Her only complain was that I was too fair for her likeness and she later asked about my tribe and I told her I was from Edo. She totally objected and told us that she can not allow her son to marry outside their tribe. We all thought she was joking and didn’t take her serious.
