Daughter of Paloma Faith had lucky esc-ape

Paloma Faith once feared her child was going to be kidnapped by a monkey that went bananas for her food.

The Only Love Can Hurt Like This singer wasn’t very ape-py when her family holiday to Bali was interrupted by pesky primates who gathered outside their hotel room.

Mum-of-two Paloma recalled: ‘This was the first baby, when I just had one. She was having her lunch on the balcony bit, I’d gone in to get something, I come back and this monkey was sitting on the baby’s high chair, pulling at the food.

‘The baby was, sort of, arguing with it over bananas, and I was like, “Oh my god, I don’t want this child to be attacked by a monkey”. I had to bring (her) into the room. I shut the door, the windows, then all the monkeys from the hood came – they were all on our balcony, screaming at me through the glass.’

The pop star pondered what could have been if the monkeys had managed to grab her baby and ‘whip her over the balcony’ – quipping: ‘Years to come, woman who acts just like a monkey has just been discovered in the Balian jungle!’

Speaking to pal Alan Carr on his podcast Life’s A Beach, Paloma, 41, also came out swinging in support of 28-year-old Harry Styles’s relationship with Olivia Wilde, 38.

‘The last bit of news I heard, which I’m really pleased about, is Harry going out with an (older) woman with two kids. Love that,’ she exclaimed. ‘Go on Harry. He’s giving us middle-aged women hope. I mean, who doesn’t fancy Harry?’

And comedian Carr, 46, replied: ‘It’s the law, innit. Normally, I would never go near anyone who wears those kind of outfits.’
