The first Farm, Food, and Allied Technologies Expo 2024 has been launched by the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry in association with Autodex Nigeria Limited, Afreximbank, and other partners.

Chief Emeka Obegolu, president of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry, revealed this in a statement on Thursday.

Obegolu highlighted that this groundbreaking event aims to revolutionize agricultural innovation and strengthen partnerships, particularly between Nigeria and China.

Kicking off in Abuja, the three-day Expo is set to attract participants from 76 countries, featuring over 500 exhibitors and an expected attendance of 500,000 visitors.

“This Expo is designed to foster international partnerships, facilitate knowledge exchange, and catalyze substantial business transactions that will drive growth within Nigeria’s agricultural sector,” he stated.

He added that the FARMFATECH Expo promises an unparalleled platform for showcasing cutting-edge agro-mechanization and food processing technologies.

“Here, we bring together industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to explore transformative investment and partnership opportunities that promise to shape the future of agriculture in Nigeria and beyond,” he added.

As the agricultural sector continues to be a vital contributor to Nigeria’s GDP, ACCI emphasizes its commitment to supporting agricultural stakeholders.

“Through policy advocacy, sustainability initiatives, and trade promotion, the Agriculture Trade Group empowers agricultural stakeholders, supporting research, education, and rural development,” he stated.

Obegolu noted the importance of this initiative in promoting economic growth and individual prosperity.

“ACCI underscores its goal to spotlight investment opportunities in the agro-allied sector, drive policy support for the industry, and promote initiatives that foster economic growth,” he affirmed.

He emphasised that the Expo serves as a pivotal moment for Nigeria’s agricultural landscape, aiming to enhance the nation’s competitiveness in global markets.
