Vivo X Flip clamshell foldable smartphone faces axe in new leak

According to reports, Xiaomi‘s first high-end clamshell foldable smartphone is doing more than well for itself, with not many competition like Huawei’s Pocket series in China and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and Motorola Razr lines globally.

Nevertheless, the market is also steadily expanding with more affordable variants from Nubia and Tecno as well as Huawei (again) with the inaugural Nova Flip.

Therefore, the launch of the “Mix Flip 2” seems all but certain, according to knowledgeable tipster Digital Chat Station. However, Vivo is apparently much less certain about the space, with plans to discontinue the X Flip for yet another year (at least) in 2025.

Furthermore, there are hints that OPPO might do the same with the (also much belated) successor to the suspiciously similar-looking Find N3 Flip.

It is possible that both clamshell foldables have been passed over in favor of the X200 Pro Mini and Find X8, a pair of conventional candy-bar smartphones with unusually compact form-factors.
