Neymar returns following a year-long injury

Neymar Jr., an Al Hilal forward and Brazilian attacker, is expected to make a comeback following a year-long injury.

Neymar will be a member of the Al Hilal team that plays Al Ain in the AFC Champions League tomorrow, following a post that was obtained from Fabrizio Romano’s X account on Sunday.

“Every day away from football is a pain for me. I love football. It’s the thing I love the most in my life,” Neymar remarked.

Recall that the forward suffered a torn ACL and meniscus in his left leg, one of the worst injuries a footballer can endure.

He posted a photo on his official Instagram account celebrating his return to training, accompanied by the caption: “Happy to be back with the group; now it’s all joy.”

The former Barcelona forward, who is Brazil’s leading scorer, missed their 2024 Copa America campaign in the United States, where they suffered a second straight quarter-final exit from a major tournament after losing to Croatia on penalties at the 2022 World Cup.

“Al Hilal is happy to announce that Neymar will join the squad for the away trip to Al Ain. He’s back,” the club posted on social media platform X.

“Neymar participated in team training after completing his recovery program,” Al Hilal said in another post.
