[STORY] Road to Nowhere (Final Episode 26)
Episode 26 (Last Episode).
Mr Ololade decided to go on a shopping with his daughter some weeks after she gave birth to her baby.
They were moving around the shopping mall when they came across a familiar face.
“Mrs Sade. Is this really you?”, Mr Ololade called out.
Mrs Sade was the lady they rescued from committing suicide several months ago. Mrs Sade was now looking beautiful. A young boy of about four old was standing beside her.
“Wow! Mr Ololade and Dammy. It’s nice seeing both of you again. Thank you do saving my life the other day. You were God sent. Meet my son, Maxwell”.
” Your son?”, Mr Ololade and Dammy called out in shock.
“But, you didn’t tell us you had a child the first time we met you”, Mr Ololade said.
“Yeah, you are right. Actually, it’s a long story. Maxwell is not my biological child, I adopted him some months ago. Some months after you met me, my husband sent me out of his house. He called me barren despite the fact that he was the one who made me barren. He really changed towards me, maybe his friends or family advised him to that. He threatened to beat me up if I didn’t leave his house.
I packed my loads and left. I rented myself an apartment and started living in freedom. I was free from my husband and his family. One day, I remembered what you told me about adopting a child.
I went to an orphanage and they gave me my handsome Maxwell after I had signed some documents and done other necessary things”..
” Wow, I’m really happy you moved on with your life”, Dammy said.
” I’m happy for you too, Mrs Sade”, Mr Ololade said.
” Thank you very much”, Mrs Sade said happily.
They all walked around the mall together and got some necessary things. Mr Ololade paid for Mrs Sade’s bills and even bought something for Maxwell.
Mr Ololade exchanged contacts with Mrs Sade so that he could call her frequently to check on her. Mr Ololade and Dammy left the shopping mall with smiling faces.
Some months later, Dammy weaned her son and returned back to school. Her former classmates had graduated out of secondary school. Dammy wasn’t ashamed to be in the same class with her juniors. She knew she still had a future and that was far better than going to another city to be a maid.
Dammy finished her secondary school with good grades and she moved to the University. In the university, Dammy lived her life in modesty and godliness. She was a good example to others.
She wasn’t ashamed to tell people her story when advising them, motivating them or preaching to them.
She also created a platform for ladies where they discussed about some important issues.
A particular day, she was having a talk with the ladies. She faced the youth and said, ” My dear ladies, making a mistake is not the end of life. Being in a mess doesn’t mean your future is over. God turned my mess into a message. He turned my story into a testimony and used it for His glory. You can still rise up and shine in any situation you are.
She was given a standing ovation. She looked around and all she could see was God’s mercies, favor, grace and goodness over her life.
