Episode 24.

On hearing that, Mrs Ololade fainted. Mrs Seye tried to regain her back to consciousness.

Some minutes later, Mrs Seye was seated together with Mrs Ololade. Mrs Ololade couldn’t stop crying, she was just thanking God.

“God, I thank you for not allowing my enemies to mock me. I thought I had lost my daughter for life. God, I thank you. You are wonderful. Thank you for not allowing me to lose my daughter completely. Thank you for keeping Dammy with this angel you sent to us. Thank you Lord”.

Daniel too was completely overwhelmed. He had felt the pain of losing his sister for several weeks. Every night, he prayed to God to bring Dammy home. Dammy’s disappearance has strengthened his prayer life. He had taken the blame on himself for Dammy’s disappearance. He had always believed that if he had returned home earlier or if he had informed his dad about the issue, Dammy wouldn’t have had the opportunity to run away from home. He couldn’t wait to see her sister. The joy in heart was unimaginable.

“Mrs Seye, when can I see my daughter? Can I see her today? Is she fine? I hope she didn’t harm or injure herself”, Mrs Ololade asked aggressively.

“Calm down, Mrs Ololade. Your daughter is fine. But, I need to be sure that you would be able to take good care of her before I bring her to you. I don’t want a scenario where you would abort the pregnancy for your child”

” Abort? I can never do that to my daughter. I promise to take good care of her and her pregnancy. Please, bring her to me”.
Mrs Seye looked at Daniel and he also wanted Dammy back home.

“Okay then”, Mrs Seye finally said.

Mrs Ololade couldn’t wait to see her daughter come back home. Immediately she saw her coming into the compound, she rushed to hug her.

“Mummy, I’m sorry. I’m sorry for disappointing you. I’m sorry for leaving you. I’m really sorry mom”, Dammy mumbled with tears on her face.

“Sweetheart, I’m sorry too. I failed as a mother. I didn’t perform my responsibilities to you”, Mrs Ololade said still hugging her daughter.

Mrs Ololade could feel the mother to daughter bond. Dammy’s pregnancy actually opened her eyes to some things she didn’t see before. She held tight to her daughter and tears ran down her face.

“Mummy, are you not going to hug me too”, Daniel said with a smile on his face.

“Jealousy!”, Dammy said as Daniel walked up to them and hug the both of them. It was like a dream come true to Dammy, she felt like that moment should never end. But, something was missing.

“Mummy, where is Daddy?”, Dammy asked as she separated herself from her mom and brother.

“My dear, we would talk about that Daddy later. I know you are tired already, why don’t we pack your traveling bags inside and allow you to rest”, Mrs Ololade said.

” Mummy, I’m not tired. Mrs Seye dropped me here and I didn’t go through any stress today. Please tell me, Is Daddy not here because he is at work or there is something else I don’t know. Please, where is daddy? “.

” Daddy is here”, Mr Ololade said as he opened the gate.

“Daddddyyyy”, Dammy screamed as she ran to hug her dad.

Mrs Ololade and Daniel were shocked. Mr Ololade was the last thing they expected in the house.

“Honey, you are back?”, Mrs Ololade said in shock.

Mr Ololade released Dammy from himself and said, ” I’m back dear. I’m sorry for leaving. What happened to Dammy was my fault. I never had time for her and Daniel. After I left you, I decided to have a rethink. I figured out that I wasn’t performing my role as a father to my children. I resigned from my job so that I could make things right”.

” You did what? But dear, it wasn’t compulsory for you to resign. I could have gotten a good manager for my super mart and stopped going to work. You didn’t have to sacrifice your job”, Mrs Ololade said.

” My dear, calm down. I got another job already in a small company. Their pay is good enough to keep the family going and they wouldn’t take much of my time unlike my former job. I would be able to come back from work early and spend time with my children. Actually, I already had it in mind to come home today. I decided to make it a surprise for you. I parked my car far away and surprisingly enough, I was walking towards the compound when I heard Dammy asking for her dad. Dammy, here I am”.

” Awwwwwn”, Daniel said and smiled.

They came together and had a family hug. Now, they were coming together as a lovely and godly family and they weren’t shy to let out their emotions to each other.
