The foolish guy shot in the air twice and snarled at us, he walked towards us pointing the gun at me. This one no know say I nodey fear gun again.
Gun man1: iffa hear pim from ona two again, I no go think twice blow ona head off.
Gun man2: I no know why chairman say make we no blow all these machi head sef.

He put down the gun and returned to were others were sitting on the grass, they were smoking and drinking.
Ugochukwu’s voice: *whisper to me* you still dey alive?
Me: *I whisper back* yes, for now.
Ugochukwu voice’s: *whisper to me* my father die at eighty years, I never even reach half.
Me: *whisper back* wetin concern me?
Another gun man that followed Mr. Okoye came back with a bag, they discussed with low voices.
Ugochukwu’s voice: *whisper to me* them wan poison us.
Me: *I whisper back* em no better pass to die with empty stomach.
Ugochukwu’s voice: *whisper to me* too young to die.
Me: *I whisper back* na me don too old to die.
He came towards us with the bag he was carrying, he dropped it on the ground and squat.

Brought out two take-aways from it and two bottles of drink, he tossed the bag away.
Dropped one take-away on my laps and walked over to Ugochukwu who was tied behind me.
The one holding the food called one that was smoking on a tree ‘Aboki’ to come over, I just dey hear Aboki upadan. Hope say we nodey Boko Haram camp oh, because all their names na Aboki.
Gun man 1: feed that one?
Aboki: okay.
He took the take-away from my laps and removed the band, then opened it. It was lap of chicken and fried rice inside it.
Me: you wan feed me?
Ugochukwu’s voice: I still dey wonder.
Aboki: open your mouth.
Me: ona don cut our hands? Abeg.. Untie only our hands make we use am eat na.
Gun man1: you wan show yourself bah? You no go chop?
Ugochukwu’s voice: if we nodey use our hand chop. Forget about the food, I no wan chop..
Aboki: open your mouth!!
Me: shey if we no eat, we go die. All ona suffer go be waste, ona boss no go settle ona.
Their two were quiet for awhile, they later changed their mind and untied us.
See the way me and my nigga rush the food ehnn.. The place was getting dark.
We ate like say we no go see food again, immediately I finished the rice I gulped down the bottle of drink and started feeling dizzy.
Me: sleep dey catch.
Ugochukwu’s voice: is like
Everything became blur and started fading, my eyelids shut down on their own.

I opened my eyes again, and my mouth started having that morning flavour, like say you never brush mouth.
Ugochukwu’s voice: you don wake?
Me: yes, na morning be this oh *hawks were making noise from a distance*
Ugochukwu’s voice: make we escape from here na.
Me: somebody dey come.
Ugochukwu’s voice: who be that?
Me: no worry yourself.
One of the gun man came to were they tied us to each other, and stared at us for a long time.
He didn’t say a word, I looked around and didn’t see any of them.
Two more joined him with their guns.
Me: I wan shit.
Ugochukwu’s voice: I wan piss.
Me: *I scream* I wan shit na!!
Ugochukwu’s voice: *he scream* wetin na! person go piss for nicker.
The one that shot the gun in the air yesterday, shot twice again. If na only this guy them for don kill us since.
Gun man2: I no wan hear pim again, if shit dey catch you. Hold am till the general election finish.
The three of them started laughing, I started hearing heavy foot-falls smashing on dead leaves and fallen sticks from a distance.
The foot-falls came closer and another gun man with gun appeared before us, sweating and panting heavily.
Gun man4: government don mount everywhere.
I smile.
