[STORY] MY SISTER-IN-LAW AND I (Final Episode 10)
Episode 10 (Last Episode).
Halima was lost in her own world thinking of possible and best ways to apologize to her brother’s wife considering the damage she had done. She didn’t notice when her mum-in-law sat close to her. She told her not to worry that since she realized her mistakes she will be forgiven. She was in tears as the woman she insulted repeatedly months ago was the same person
comforting her now that she was down.
Her mum-in-law advised her to be sincere and her sister-in-law will accept her apology. The next day saw halima on her way to the Muhammad’s. She was driven in silence by the driver while she kept on Imagining being thrown out of the house for her gross misconduct.
She didn’t know they had arrived until the driver called out to her to announce their arrival. She got down reluctantly and edged towards the house slowly. She knocked with fear, her feets seemed too heavy to carry her weight. She was sweating profusely while Waiting for someone to open up. Her brother opened the door instead and she released the breath she never knew she was holding. She felt relieved that she had a little time to put herself in order before salamatu surfaces.
The brother asked angrily why she was in their house. She immediately knelt down to seek for forgiveness, she held his leg in such a way that movement was impossible. He told her to tell him exactly what she was sorry for, was it for frustrating, humiliating, and causing him to divorce his wife. Was it for threatening her, insulting and belittling her, or was it for seizing her clothes and getting her inferior one’s or refusing her taking care of me or my children.Which one was she exactly sorry for, she quietly said for everything and every pain I had caused your family.
She apologized whole heartedly and he had no option but to forgive her. She was his only sister and he loved her dearly but she hated his wife and that was why they had a fall out.
Having being forgiven by her older brother, she felt slightly relieved while she waited for him to call salamatu. He returned with the twins and the other children in tow. The older one’s ran to her and enveloped in a hug, while the twin babies she had to carry by herself. Hot tears cascaded her face as she stared into their pure and innocent faces. She was excited meeting the identical twins and couldn’t hide her excitement. The older kids engaged her in a discussion and insisted telling her all that happened while she was away. She was too happy to speak and tears of joy kept falling while she answered and tended to the kids.
Salamatu was taking her bathe when halima arrived, hence she didn’t know of her presence. She wore her clothes, came down to be with her hubby and kids when she heard noises and laughter. She hurried to the sitting room to find out what was going on and met halima with her kids. She was shocked and surprised but held her cool.
She greeted her and expected her to behave rudely like she was always does. But she responded well and knelt down with the babies in their hand seeking for forgiveness. Salamatu didn’t want to believe the person kneeling and seeking for forgiveness was halima. She was dumbfounded. She begged her to forgive her unruly behaviours. She told her she knew better now, and would never ever make such mistakes in her life again.
Salamatu was happy her sister-in-law learnt her lesson and forgave her whole heartedly. She knelt down with her and also asked for her forgiveness for her behaviours also. Muhammad carried his babies and gave them an avenue to talk things out. They both stood up hugged each other while crying. She was happy she now had a sister-in-law and a friend all in one.
Halima was relieved salamatu didn’t give her a hard time. She was down to earth and not terrible like her. She really thanked God for making her see the monster she was turning into on time and making redress before it was too late.
She visited with them for a while , she was officially introduced to Abdur-rahman and Abdur-rahim. She played with all the children and had fun something she had not had in a while.
Her driver came for her and she bade them farewell and promised to visit whenever she was chanced or around the neighborhood. The reaction on her face when she saw the occupant of the car was priceless. In place of the driver came her hubby. He had a reservation for dinner at a very prominent hotel. He came prepared and took her shopping, she changed her clothes in the shopping mall. Armed with so much shopping bags they headed to the parking lot and kept the things they bought in their car.
He took her to dinner where he professed love to her all over. He told her he loved her and hopes she will do him the honour of marrying him again. The first wedding was a sham and they needed to make it filled with love and all the people who mattered to them both would grace the small occasion this time around. He appologised for the way the family treated her, he told her he hurt each time she was mistreated but he didn’t have a choice because he wanted to bring out the best in her.
Halima was was overwhelmed and thanked him for thinking about her and wishing her the best. She was proud of him as a spouse and nothing in this world would make her disrespect him or his family . As a matter of fact she won’t be disrespecting anyone in this life because everyone matters be it her parents, brother’s, sister’s, in-laws and everyone at large.

– THE END.
Just like we have bad sister-in-law’s so also do we have bad wives. Some wives are also more vile and evil than Halima ooo. But the truth is if we learn to tolerate each other’s excesses things will be alot easier. But the fact is everyone is willing to throw punches, threats, insults first before reasoning. You would see a daughter-in-law talking to her sister-in-law anyhow because she feels it’s her hubby’s house or home. Sometimes it is vice versa only love perseverance can help us eradicate this in-law issues. We were all born and bred by different parents, hence our habits, ways of life would differ enforcing your own way of life on someone is terrible. Allowing them learn with love is easier.
Much love.
