[STORY] MARRIED TO A MONSTER (Episode 04)

Episode 04.

“Don’t just stand there! What do we do?”Micheal threw at me in a whisper.

I looked around the room. There was no place to hide except the bathroom but what he comes in and decides to look in?

Without thinking twice,I rushed to the door and tried to open it with boldness but Michael yank off my hand. He stared at me,as though I were mad.

“What do you think you are doing? He will see you!”Micheal said,in a whisper.

“Come on, he’s already inside. If he sees me coming from downstairs,I will tell him I only went to take a look at the beautiful streets. Just believe me.”I said to him as he looked at me, horrified and scared. I wondered why he was so scared.

I opened the door a little and peeped put

No one was in sight.

Without thinking twice and looking back,I sneaked out of the room and gummed myself with the wall, going step by step.

I heard Michael silently closing the door as I made my way to the main entrance and pulled the door open just to come face to face with Eric who stared straight at my terrific face

I began to stammer.”I…I only went…out….to…. check out the street “I said,my heart thumping loud.

He said nothing. He grabbed my right arm and shoved me inside.

“You are not permitted to leave the house under no permission. Unless you want to be grounded.”He told me before letting me go. I breath was ragged as I looked at him. I had the urge to protest but did not find the courage to do so.

He left the house and I went back to my room in tears.

Felicia came to call me for dinner around 7pm. I had no appetite but I was also tired of staying inside my room so I went downstairs with her.

After eating,I insisted on washing the dishes with her. I was in the kitchen when Eric came back.

I went out to greet him. He dropped his brief case on the sofa and sat down. I was going back to my room when his angry voice called me back.

When I turned,he was looking at the wall clock on the wall.

“Who set the time?”he asked,his face a mask of anger and rage. I look at the wall clock, confused. Was he angry because I set the time?

“I did.”I replied. His gaze landed on me and he stood up, grabbing my arm and twisting it behind me. I winced in pain as I begged him to leave me alone.

“How dare you! Don’t you ever,ever try it again. Time does exist in this house,do you hear me!”He barked into my ear and left me alone.

He walked to the wall clock and yank it off, bringing down and breaking it into pieces. I was confused and scared. What was happening?.

He left for his room and also broke the one by the stairs. I couldn’t take it anymore. I had to do something to stop him from treating me this way but how?

Around 12 in the midnight,I came out of my room unable to sleep. To be honest,I was thinking about Michael. I wondered if he was going to open the door for me and let me enter.

Slowly,I came down the stairs and walked out of the house. I walked slowly away from the compound and to the boy’s quarters.

When I knocked at his door,his light was on and I knew he was not sleeping.

“Ma!”he exclaimed in a fearful whisper.

“Rose.”I reminded him.

“Okay.. Rose.. what are you doing here? It’s almost 1am.”He asked me.

“Please,let me inside. I couldn’t sleep.”I pleaded with him and he allowed me in, looking frantically outside before closing the door.

“You don’t have to be scared. Eric is sleeping or do you think he’s going to come here.”I asked him and sat on the bed looking around.He was drawing again. He sat down with me and I looked at him.

“I want to know about Eric’s dead fiancee. Can you please tell me about her and how she died.” I asked him.

He looked at me and shrugged.”I will tell you when master leaves for work.”He replied and I nodded.

“I want you to draw me.” I suddenly said, startling him.

“But Rose…”

“Please. I’ve always wanted someone to draw me with my shoulders naked.” I said looking straight at him. He smiled and I smiled back. He gave me a clean white towel and asked me to change into it. I went to the bathroom and came out, tying the towel around me.

I could see admiration in his eyes as he saw me approaching. I felt happy as he looked at me that way. It made me feel so beautiful.

“You are beautiful.” He said to me and I smiled. He positioned me on the bed a d made me lie on my side.

He took out a new drawing board with stands and started drawing me.

Within thirty minutes,he was through with my head and shoulders.

I was perplexed when I cane to look at the drawing. It was exactly me. No difference. I was going back to the bed when a knock came on the door.

We both froze. Who could be knocking if not…? Michael’s mouth opened in fright as he tried to talk.

“Y..yes.. who’s there?”He asked and the hard voice of Eric hit my ears.

“Open the door, Micheal.”he said from outside.

“Oh God! Oh God! What do we do now!”He whispered to me, almost jumping. I quickly entered the bathroom and locked the door. You could imagine the type of fright I was feeling inside. My heart was thumping so loud I thought he was going to hear it.

Micheal calmed himself down and opened the door. Eric came in, looking around. What does he even want at this time of the of the night?

I peeped through the key hole to see what was going on. He crossed his hands behind his back as he looked at the paintings on the wall.

“I was walking around the compound when I saw your lights on. Why aren’t you sleeping?” He asked.

“Oh.. maybe… maybe I forgot.”Michael responded.

“Okay. I will be going now. Make sure you turn off the light.”Eric said and looked at the paintings on the wall. “You have good paintings here. Why don’t you sell them?”

“Er…yes. I will.” Michael responded, hoping seriously that he was going already.

Eric was about to turn away when his eyes landed on the drawing board,with it’s back on him. It was the drawing board which half of my body was there already.

“But what do you have there?” Eric asked, pointing at it. Michael’s eyes widened as he looked over at the bathroom door. I couldn’t watch. I could not. I closed my eyes with my heart almost ripping out of my body as Eric began to walk towards the board…….
