Episode 15.

“It’s over, I am sorry for leading you on. I don’t know what came over me. I really can’t explain it. But I won’t want you to call me again. I am sorry” She said and ended the call..

I didn’t move for another five minute. How could I meet someone in 24 hours, fall in love with that person and suddenly the person vanishes…

” No! It can’t end like this ..” I told myself, but how was I going to reach her. I didn’t know her house, and besides she was married.

My tears kept flowing… My phone beeped and It was her… It was an SMS from her..

” I think you are my soulmate I missed, I was in hurry to get married. I am sorry for not being available. He saw us at the Blue Carnival yesterday . When I got back, he didn’t say a word, not until I was chatting with you. He suddenly turned on me and grabbed my phone. He read our chat and swore to kill you. I pleaded with him and told him to let us leave the hotel. I told him if we left there, I would not contact you again. I hope to keep the promise. This will be my last conversation with you.. Strangely, It feels like I have known you forever. I think I Love you and I am sorry for losing the future we could have had together.. I hope you get married to a beautiful soul like you.. Bye F.D”

I cried like a baby…

I must have dialed her number a thousand times over the next two weeks, but apparently she had blocked my line. I lost my appetite for food. I suspect she was also feeling the same way because within the two weeks, I received over 10 calls from a private number and the caller was always quiet. I would only hear the person’s breathing. On several occasions, I would speak and I could tell the person was sobbing…

” Promise, Is that you? Talk to me. Are you Okay? Because I am not Okay… please say something, You don’t have to cut off from me, we can be friends…”

Instead of replying the person would end the call…

At the end of the second week, I got a good news that lifted my Spirit, though another news shocked me and it got me questioning what I really wanted….

” Shalewa is coming home!” Leni had told me…

“Oh really!” I smiled

” Thank God, my brother finally smiled in a long time.” Leni said

” Have I not been smiling?” I asked

” You have been moving around the house like a saddist. There are things I want to discuss with you, but you have been unaccessible.”

” Really? Whatsup?”

” I met someone”

My heart dropped…That was strange. Was I sad my sister found love, Was I jealous of her?

” Really? Woooooow!” I stressed trying to gather my thoughts. This was the first time Leni was talking about a relationship. It took her a while to finally let go of Marcus, but after that she devoted her time to raising her son…

“Who is he?”

” I met him in the bus, three months ago”

” Three months ago!” I was shocked she kept this information away from me…

“Wow! that’s a surprise, you kept your lover from me for three months. How thoughtful to tell me now. Thank you, I feel so special” I didn’t know why I was angry.

” Slow Down… we are not dating yet. I have been praying but I am not hearing anything. That’s why I needed your advise”

” Ok?”

” He is 45 years old and still lives with his Aunty. He does not have a job, he says he is called into ministry.”

” This his Biodata doesn’t make sense…A matured man of 45 years old still living with someone…That’s not someone without issues. Are you sure he has not been married before”

” No!”

” I suggest you calm down and find someone better ”

” I love him!”

” It’s not everyone we love we can get married to, I love you and we are not married” Those words poured out of my mouth and it felt like the universe paused at that moment. It was like a moment of realization.

” I Love Leni”
