[STORY] BEHIND THE FINE FACE (Episode 01)

Episode 01.

It is easier to hear tales about women with ill luck; women that come into a man’s life and turn everything upside down; women that have a spirit, in contrast to a man’s, hence, the bad energy that such a union produces.

Trust me, as a man; you’d rather have these stories simply end at just being “fairy tales”, than actually experience one of these women. I should know because I wasn’t so lucky.

I met Rachael at a colleague’s house-warming party. As a man with a very special taste in women, I knew, the very moment I set my eyes on Rachael, that I was eventually going to get her laid.

I was so positive.
.
I am a man that knows his stuff. As long as you (a girl) are still “in the market” and ready to mingle, you can’t resist my charms. I am not just rich; I am wealthy.

I am not a man whose handsomeness has been facilitated by his big cash bag and good life, no! Not only that, but I am jaw dropping handsome, even if the money wasn’t there.

I take care of my body too.

My hunt for Rachael wasn’t as seamless as I’d presumed. Apparently, everything I thought I possessed were things Rachael wasn’t swayed by.

It took me months to get my first real date with Rachael and even longer, to get her to go out with me, for a second.
.
The day Rachael finally agreed to marry me was the happiest day of my life. The party I threw, to commemorate that day, is one that my friends still talk about, to this day.

Rachael and I got married a few months later.
.
I was beyond surprised to discover that Rachael was still a virgin, on the night that we finally decided to consummate our marriage. This certainly heightened my love for my wife and my “mumu button” for her, activated.

Nothing Rachael ever asked for, that went by her without getting it. I made sure she lived a life she could only have ever dreamt of, because money was not my problem.

Well, the money wasn’t, until after our two-year anniversary.

I am one of those few lucky individuals to have had the opportunity to touch real money, early in life. I have unbelievable chains of businesses scattered around town; businesses that gave me streams of income that assured me that, even if I never wanted to work for the rest of my life again, I never have to worry about my basic needs and that of my unborn children.
.
It was barely two years after my marriage to Rachael that disaster, after disaster, began to strike, crumbling these businesses, one after the other.
.
I’d never, for once, had a course to be suspicious; to have thought that any of these, could have had a spiritual backing to it, until Samuel (my friend) drew my attention to it.

Samuel offered to take me to a “spiritual father”. After a lot of deliberation, I finally agreed to go with him because at this point, Rachael and I were barely eating, twice a day.
.
We arrived at this very tattered looking hut, in the late hours of the day that Samuel and I finally decided to go and see this man.

The man seemed to know that we were coming. After he’d gone about chanting certain incantations, he asked to know whether I was married.

“Yes, sir; I am married.” I responded, a little bit scared because of how dramatic he’d posed this question.

“Where is your wife, right now?” The spiritual father asked again.
.
The spiritual father requested that I come over, with Rachael, in a fortnight. He told me that Rachael needed to be cleansed of a certain spirit. “Your wife is a very beautiful woman. She is very well-mannered and cultured. For the kind of life you’ve lived in the past, deep down, you ask yourself how you got so lucky, to have nailed such a good woman.” The spiritual father said, explaining things that he could never have known about me; my wife.

At this point, the Spiritual Father heaved a deep sigh, and echoed my name the loudest I’d ever been called.

“Bring that woman here, in a fortnight.”
