Samsung Galaxy A56 to launch with long-awaited camera upgrade
Samsung launched a new generation of Galaxy A series smartphones this summer with the Galaxy A06, which was quickly followed by the Galaxy A16 4G and Galaxy A16 5G. Unsurprisingly, the company seems to be developing further new Galaxy A series devices.
Based on Samsung’s recent release cycle, it would seem that the Galaxy A26, Galaxy A36 and Galaxy A56 will be making their way to market between winter 2024 and spring 2025. To that end, the Galaxy A36 has surfaced a few times this month. Additionally, GalaxyClub has now delivered fresh information about the Galaxy A56, even though Samsung is unlikely to unveil the device before March 2025.
Reportedly, Samsung plans to equip the Galaxy A56 with the same rear-facing cameras as the existing Galaxy A55 (curr. $335 on Amazon). Thus, the Galaxy A56 is expected to arrive with 50 MP primary, 12 MP ultra-wide-angle and 5 MP macro cameras.
Conversely, GalaxyClub asserts that Samsung will replace the 32 MP front-facing camera it has been using since the Galaxy A51 with a new 12 MP sensor. Unfortunately, details of this camera remain unknown for now. However, the Galaxy A56 is also reputed to be one of the first devices to be powered by an Exynos 1580 SoC with an Xclipse 540 GPU, which should bring about some performance improvements from the Exynos 1480 that underpins the Galaxy A55.
