Samsung Galaxy A16 to come with 6 years of updates for €209

SamInsider was able to discover the purported official euro prices of two Galaxy A16 5G models following a leak in mid-September that exposed the most significant information regarding the smartphone’s characteristics. The Galaxy A16 4G, which has 128 GB of flash storage, is said to retail for €209.90, while the Galaxy A16 5G, which has the same storage capacity, is priced at €239.90.

The processors of the two Galaxy A15 successors are probably going to be the main areas of difference, even if there are currently no details on the 4G model. It’s quite a task in this price bracket, but Samsung is reportedly going to give both devices six major Android upgrades and six years of security fixes. The Galaxy A16 5G will come with a Samsung Exynos 1330 or a MediaTek Dimensity 6300, depending on the region.

The device will reportedly be offered with 4 GB to 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB to 256 GB of flash storage. Samsung is said to have installed a 6.7-inch display with a resolution of 2,340 x 1,080, a full-surface peak brightness of 800 nits and a frame rate of 90 Hz.

The device is supposedly IP54 certified, which means that the housing is still not completely waterproof, but unlike the previous model, the smartphone has some degree of resistance against rain and splashes of water. The design has hardly changed, as Samsung is sticking with a flat frame with a “key island”, a notch and a wider chin under the display. When exactly the Galaxy A16 will be officially unveiled remains unclear.
