PDP mourn death of ex-UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has reacted to the death of the former United Nations, UN, Secretary General and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Kofi Annan.
Annan was announced dead on Saturday.
The 7th UN Secretary General died in a hospital in Bern, Switzerland in the early hours of Saturday.
Reacting to his death, PDP’s spokesperson, Kola Ologbondiyan described Annan as a rare gem, who will be missed.
In a tweet, Ologbondiyan wrote: “A life well lived!
“Indeed, Africa and the World has lost a rare gem.
“Rest on the Great Diplomat and Global Citizen of the century.
“Rest on Kofi Annan.”
Similarly, wife of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Toyin described the late diplomat as a selfless leader, who placed others first.
In a tweet, Toyin wrote: “Rest in Peace Kofi Annan 1938-2018
Nobel Laureate and Seventh Secretary General of the United Nations.
“Indeed “He selflessly placed others first, radiating genuine kindness, warmth and brilliance in all he did” – @KofiAnnanFdn
“He will be greatly missed, rest in peace, Amen.”
