Oyo PDP governorship candidate Seyi Makinde lists APC govt failures
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde, has urged the electorate to vote out the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming election.
He also appealed to them to get their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVCs) and come out en masse on March 2, 2019, to exercise their civic duty.
A statement on Friday signed by his spokesman, Prince Dotun Oyelade, cited the continued closure of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) and “sorry state of the Oyo health sector which has seen women in labour bringing lanterns to the delivery rooms” as part of failure of the APC administration.
The statement, however, explained Makinde’s absence at the BBC Yoruba political debate held in Ibadan on Friday.
It noted that the PDP flagbearer had already scheduled commitments before he received the BBC invite.
“I am sorry I had to disappoint my teeming supporters who must have been looking forward to an intellectually stimulating discuss,” it added, adding that Makinde, who was in Ibadan South East earlier in the day to kick off his campaign in the Local Government Area (Oranyan, Orita Aperin, Felele, Bere and Odinjo), will be available for the next two gubernatorial debates.
“I am looking forward to the parley with my fellow contestants, which will afford me the opportunity to once more present my agenda on education, agriculture, health, physical infrastructure, youth empowerment and security to the people of Oyo State”.
