Offa bank robbery: Bukola Saraki speaks on honouring police invitation

Bukola Saraki, Nigeria Senate President, on Monday said he will honour the invitation by the Nigeria Police Force over his indictment by some suspects involved in the Offa Bank robbery.

Recall that the Force Spokesperson, Jimoh Moshood had over the weekend disclosed that some of the suspects arrested in connection with the Offa Bank robbery incident, had allegedly indicted Saraki and the Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed.

Against this backdrop, the Police had summoned the Senate President for questioning.

In a swift reaction, Bukola Saraki claimed that the Police was plotting to frame him.

However, Saraki confirmed he will be honouring the police invitation extended to him.

In a tweet, the Senate President disclosed that he has informed his “ADC” to get the letter of invitation from the police in respect of the allegations raised against him.

Saraki explained that his directive was to allow him to immediately honour the invitation.

He tweeted, “I have just informed my ADC to get the letter of invitation from @PoliceNG in respect of the allegations raised yesterday — so that I can immediately honour the alleged invitation.”
