Nigeria Won’t Be Easy For Argentina – Diego Maradona

Former Argentina captain, Diego Maradona has given Nigeria hope of beating his country at this year’s World Cup, as he believes La Albiceleste are going to the competition without a leader.

Though Argentina have triumphed on all their previous four meetings with Nigeria in the past World Cup matches, Maradona is worried that the Super Eagles will finally break the jinx this year in Russia.

Nigeria will face Argentina in their final Group D fixture at Krestovsky Stadium, Saint Petersburg on June 26, ahead of which Maradona, who coached the Albiceleste at the South Africa 2010 World Cup, again criticized the team’s manager, Jorge Sampaoli for his choice of players.

The Napoli hero, who incidentally was banned for drugs after leading Argentina to beat Nigeria at USA 94, admitted that he is very skeptical about Argentina’s chances because of the manager’s tactics and acknowledged that the Super Eagles, Iceland and Croatia will not be easy opponents.
