Naija Prime set to take film, content industry to new heights
Naija Prime, a new online program, will promote Nigerian films and other creative material, offering a local substitute for well-known streaming services.
Martins Osuofia, the app’s designer, claimed that his decision to go this route was prompted by the absence of a strong local substitute. “Why don’t we invest in ourselves instead of waiting for others to invest in us?” he questioned himself when he woke up one day. The needs of Nigerians, particularly in the film business, would be satisfied by this software.
Discussing the app’s functionality, Osuofia said, “All you have to do is visit our website and watch as much content as you need. We also plan to collaborate with Nollywood to create massive content for us. The goal is to establish a platform where Nollywood movies and Nigerian content get the recognition they deserve, ensuring that our past heroes and pioneers will not be forgotten. We aim to make a mark in Nollywood and compete internationally. It took us three to six months to build this platform.”
He added that feature-length movies, skits, and short films could be uploaded on the app. He however cautioned that if the content did not meet their standard, it would be declined, emphasising the importance of quality control.
