Mercedes-Benz Group Sold Over 500,000 Cars And Vans In The Third Quarter

Mercedes-Benz Group sold 594,600 cars and vans in the third quarter and 1,763,200 between January and September 2024.

In Q3, sales of Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars reached 503,600 units while Mercedes-Benz Vans global sales reached 91,100 units.

Sales of Top-End vehicles reached 61,800 units (-12%) in Q3 – which it said was affected by sales of S-Class family vehicles in China.

Mercedes-Benz Vans sales in Q3 includes 78,400 units (-9%) of commercial vans and 12,700 units (-26%) of private vans.

Mercedes-Benz Group sold 594,600 cars and vans in the third quarter and 1,763,200 between January and September 2024 — which are respectively -1 percent and -5 percent decline compared to units sold in the corresponding year.

Sales of Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars rose 1% in the third quarter to 503,600 units and remained on last years’ level while Plug-in-Hybrids sales increased globally by 10% – mainly driven by the U.S. market.

“Mercedes-Benz sold more than 500,000 cars from July to September, a slight increase compared with the second quarter and in line with the prior-year period. Sales of Top-End vehicles, which includes Mercedes-AMG, Mercedes-Maybach, G-Class, S-Class, GLS and EQS, reached 61,800 units (-12 percent) in Q3 – which it said was affected by sales of S-Class family vehicles in China.

Sales of the G-Class (excluding the Electric variant) rose 2% on the quarter. First deliveries of the new electric G-Class started in September while Mercedes-Maybach presented its sportiest model, the Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series, in August.

In Q3 2024, Mercedes-Benz Vans global sales reached 91,100 units, which is -12 percent quarter-on-quarter and 13 percent below Q3 previous year. The sales includes 78,400 units (-9%) of commercial vans and 12,700 units (-26%) of private vans.
