Manchester City Break Three Records Held By Chelsea After Defeating Brighton
Manchester City on Wednesday night broke three Premier League records held by Chelsea when they defeated Brighton 3-1 at the Etihad.
Defender, Danilo scored the first goal for the home side before Leonardo Ulloa scored an equaliser for Chris Hughton’s men in the 20th minute.
Bernardo Silva’s strike made it 2-1 before Fernandinho added the third goal to give City the deserved three points.
The result against Brighton means, Pep Guardiola’s side, who has scored 105 goals this season, break Chelsea’s record of 103 goals which they achieved under former coach, Carlo Ancelotti in 2009/10.
Guardiola’s men also overtook Chelsea’s record of 30 wins which Antonio Conte’s team achieved last season.
City are currently on 95 points with one game remaining this season, which means the Citizens now surpasses Chelsea’s 93 points from the 2004/05 campaign.
