Lindsay Lohan is set to appear in a new Netflix rom-com
Lindsay Lohan’s comeback is officially on and we’re living for it.
The Mean Girls actress, 36, took some time out of the spotlight recently but is returning to our screens with a bang in new Netflix rom-com, Irish Wish.
She is set to take on the starring role of Maddie in the upcoming flick, which is set at a wedding in Ireland.
The official synopsis reads: ‘When the love of her life gets engaged to her best-friend, Maddie puts her feelings aside to be a bridesmaid at their wedding in Ireland.
‘Days before the pair are set to marry, Maddie makes a spontaneous wish for true love, only to wake up as the bride-to-be.
‘With her dream seeming to come true, Maddie soon realizes that her real soulmate is someone else entirely.’
Is anyone else getting major Freaky Friday vibes?
A release date for Irish Wish has not yet been confirmed but this marks the second project that she is fronting for the streaming platform, with her upcoming Christmas film, Falling For Christmas, set to be released later this year.
Lindsay became a household name with her debut on the big screen in the Parent Trap, where she proved her acting chops by appearing as both twins Hallie Parker and Annie James.
She then went on to appear in Life-Size, Confessions Of A Teenage Drama Queen and Just My Luck.
Despite having huge success in Hollywood, her personal life began to overshadow her career and she took a backseat from the spotlight in recent years to concentrate on her business.
Netflix bosses recently sent us all into a spin when they confirmed that she would be returning to acting, giving us all the festive feels with Falling For Christmas – which is due to be released on November 10.
It will follow a ‘newly engaged, spoiled hotel heiress’ as she gets injured in a skiing accident in the run up to the holidays, and finds herself ‘in the care of handsome, blue-collar lodge owner’ Chord Overstreet, as well as his precocious daughter.
A total Christmas classic.
