Keshinro Ololade better known as Lil Kesh is a chart-topping Nigerian singer, rapper and songwriter.
Lil Kesh, born March 14, 1995 grew up in the suburban Bariga, Lagos State. After completing his primary school education, he proceeded to Stockbridge College, Bariga where he underwent his secondary education. Before his foray into music, Lil Kesh always had a love for dancing and he decided to start rapping after watching some of his peers do it.
CAREER
Lil Kesh became a household name after the release of his hit single, “Shoki”. His music career actually made a slow start in 2012 when he was still rapping among his peers in Bariga until he released “Lyrically”, a single that quickly became a hit in any Nigerian universities in Nigeria including UNILAG and YABATECH.
Keshinro joined YBNL through the help of his friend, Viktoh, who also signed a deal with the label. The Edo state born singer and dancer shared Kesh’s ‘Lyrically’ track with ace rapper Olamide who sought to sign the artiste after listening to the song. In April 2014, Kesh signed a two-year recording contract with YBNL.
His album, YAGI, was released March 17th, 2016 and it received rave reviews. The album features guest appearances from notable music acts including Olamide, Phyno, Davido, Adekunle Gold, YCEE, Nigerian-American rap superstar, Wale, Viktoh and Patoranking.
In April 2016, Lil Kesh’s contract expired and the established artiste floated his own imprint. He is now currently signed under his record label YAGI Records, an acronym for “Young And Getting It”. However, his management is still handled by YBNL.
CREATIVE ABILITY
Lil Kesh’s versatility and style of music has been similarized to that of Olamide who raps and sings in his local dialect. However, he has been criticised for using too much vulgar sentences and not finding the right balance in the lyrics of his songs. In an interview with he said,
“They are singles not an album, I know the kind of market am directing my songs to, am from the streets, I know what the people from the street want to listen to…they should wait for my album that is expected to drop towards the end of the year. I have very positive songs”
ENDORSEMENT
The singer got an endorsement deal with Sure Bet, a deal said to worth N11 million naira.

Awards & Nominations
During the 2015 Headies Award event, Lil Kesh’s then record label owner Olamide pulled a Kanye West when he blasted the organizers of the award ceremony right on stage during the ceremony for not giving the ‘Next Rated Award’ to Lil Kesh, who he said was supposed to be the winner ahead of Reekado Banks. Olamide’s act threw the social media into a frenzy, hence popularizing “Ko ni da iya anybody” which means “It shall not be well with anybody” in Yoruba.
