Jemele Hill Under Attack For Allegedly Calling For Trump’ Assassination
Jemele Hill, who now works for The Atlantic, is coming under fire after she suggested that President Trump should be assassinated. Jemele made a reference to the assassination of Trump – using details from Malcolm X’s assassination during President Trump’s State of the Union address on Tuesday night.
Some folks on Twitter view what Jemele said as calling for the assassination of Donald Trump.
Jemele, who is a former ESPN employee, is not new to controversy with the President. She was fired from ESPN last year, because of her social media activity – and criticism of the President, whom she called a White Supremacist.
She tweeted out that New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez should yell out “Getcho hand out of my pocket.”
Hill later said, “When I tweeted ‘GETCHO HAND OUT MY POCKET,’ in no way was I suggesting any physical harm to the president. I have used this phrase many times in my Twitter history, always in lighthearted ways, and removed from the context of the movie,” she tweeted.
Hill also wrote: “Let me be clear: I have often disagreed with many of the president’s policies, his behavior and rhetoric, but I would never call for violence against him, or any person. I apologize for breathing life into such an absurd assumption.”
That is the phrase a that a man yelled out to distract security so that a Nation of Islam conspirator could shoot and kill Malcolm X.
She has since deleted the tweet, and apologized for what she called a bad joke.”
