Dino Melaye Confirms Assassination Attempt On Ekweremadu, Wife & Son

The Senator representing Kogi West in the National Assembly, Dino Melaye, on Tuesday confirmed the assassination attempt on the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu and some of his family members.

Melaye disclosed that the alleged assassins made an attempt on the Deputy Senate President’s life at about 4am on Tuesday.

Reports had it that Ekweremadu, his wife, and son escaped an assassination attempt on Tuesday.

The attackers were said to have sneaked into Ekweremadu’s residence, took hold of his son, and commanded him to lead them to the Senator’s bedroom.

It was at the Senator’s bedroom that a struggle ensued, leading to the arrest of one of the assailants with dangerous weapons and housebreaking devices, while the others managed to escape.

However, Melaye said one of the assassins was arrested and handed over to the police in Apo Police Station in Abuja.

“Just spoke to Senator Ike Ekweremadu. There was an attempt to assassinate him about 4am this morning. One of the assains was arrested after serious wrestling.

“He has been handed over to the police in Apo Police Station. We are in Perilous times but God will continue to be God,” he tweeted.
