Cristiano Ronaldo Scores His 100th International Goal For Portugal, Becomes 2nd Most International Scorer
The Juventus star brought up his century when he gave the Euro 2016 winners the lead in the first half of their Nations League game against Sweden.
Ronaldo recovered from a toe infection to make the game and in true Ronaldo fashion, he scored a brilliant free-kick to bring up 100.
It’s a simply incredible achievement that makes Ronaldo the second male player to score 100 international goals.
He’s now even closer to breaking Ali Daei’s record of 109 goals for Iran.

100 – Cristiano Ronaldo has scored his 100th goal for Portugal; he's only the second ever male player to score 100+ for his national side, after Ali Daei for Iran (109). Landmark. pic.twitter.com/ElpBLRrGjQ

Ronaldo missed the chance to go for 100 when he sat out Portugal’s win over Croatia on Saturday with a toe infection that manager Fernando Santos likened to a bee sting.
“He had been training well, then suddenly on Wednesday one of his toes was red, as if he’d been stung by a bee,” Santos said, per Goal.
“Now we have to wait. With an infection, you don’t know how long the recovery is going to take.”
Ronaldo ended up watching the game, which Portugal won 4-1, from the stands.
In a comical moment during the match, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner was asked to put on his mask.

Not even Ronaldo is above the mask law.
Thankfully, he managed to make it back for the Sweden game and he made it a night to remember with his landmark goal.
Congratulations, Cristiano.
