Complete Serena Williams biography, net worth, history and property
Now, we will not bore you with a detailed Serena Williams biography, but let’s get a few things out of the way first, so that you know who we are talking about. In case you do not know, Serena Jameka Williams is a professional tennis player from the United States. She was born in Saginaw, Michigan on September 26, 1981, which means that Serena Williams age is currently 36.
Serena has been playing tennis professionally since 1995, and in her long and fruitful career, she won 39 Grand Slam titles, which is why she is considered to be one of the best female tennis players of all time. In addition to that, Williams has been the highest paid female athlete for the past two years, according to Forbes. This leads us to wonder just how rich she is. And that is exactly what we are going to find out next!
Serena Williams net worth
If the popular website TheRichest (along with many others) is to be believed, as of this year, Serena Williams’ net worth is at the astounding $170 million. Can you believe that? Of course, a large part of that comes from her winnings at various sports events. For instance, just last year, she received $8 million in career prize money. However, that is not the only thing that feeds her.
Thanks to her being an incredible athlete, many brands approach her to become their ambassador. As of now, Serena has endorsement deals with Nike, Delta Air Lines, Gatorade, Aston Martin, Beats by Dre, Pepsi, Audemars Piguet, Mission Athletecare, OPI Products, Berlei, OnePiece, Mini, IBM. Intel, Chace Bank and Tempur. Whew! Now that is impressive! As a matter of fact, endorsement deals bring Williams more money than her professional career. Last year, she earned $19 million from endorsements.
In addition to that, Serena enjoys appearing on the big screen, which must also bring in some cash. Over the years, she has appeared in various movies, TV shows, advertisements and music videos, one of the most recent ones being the cameo on the upcoming Ocean’s 8. Not that long ago, HBO released a five-episode documentary titled ‘Being Serena’, where people could see the athlete’s life from the inside.
As many other wealthy people, particularly athletes, Serena is involved in charity work. She has her own self-titled foundation, as well as a fund she has created with her sister Venus. Her foundation’s main goal is to promote equality through race, gender, education, disability and other things that might stand in the way. Williams also supports other charities and foundations.
Now that you know how wealthy Serena Williams is, you must be curious what she spends all this money on. Well, let us tell you all about it.
Selena Williams houses
When you have as much money as Serena, chances are, you would not want it to just sit there, and it seems like she does not let it do that. For years, the athlete has been involved in real estate purchasing and selling, and she shows no signs of stopping.
For instance, in 2015, news appeared about Serena Williams picture-perfect house in Palm Beach, Florida. The athlete reportedly bought it for $2.5 million, in addition to the Palm Beach house she owned with her sister. This home has five bedrooms, five bathrooms, a spa and a pool, and it sits atop 1.25 acres of land. It can be found on 7703 Bold Lad Rd.
Of course, that is not the only property Williams owns. Two years ago, she surprised her Snapchat followers with an impromptu tour of her Paris apartment. It is not as big as her Florida home, but it still looks wonderful. Besides, she has even more properties, so size is not the determining factor here.
All the way back in 2013, she bought a 2.4-acre piece of land in Jupiter, Florida that used to belong to a golf club for a little over $4 million. That said, Williams has not really done much to it, and she has recently been able to find a buyer for this parcel who agreed to take it off her hands for $6.5 million.
Among her other real estate purchases is her Bel-Air mansion in Los Angeles. Apparently, she bought it earlier than all the other houses, as it was purchased in 2006 for $6 million. The six-bedroom house was built in 1935 on top of 2.7 acres of land. It has private gardens and hiking trails, a pool, gym, salon and bar. However, despite all its amenities, Serena decided to sell this beauty of a home. That said, it is still waiting for a new owner, even after Williams knocked the price from $12 million to just below $10 million.
Her latest and final (as far as we know) purchase is her wonderful mansion in Beverly Hills. She bought it around the time she decided to sell her Bel-Air house, which was in October last year, and it cost her $6.68 million. Once again, it is a five-bedroom house with a pool (we are beginning to see a pattern here), and it also has a yoga room, wine cellar and wonderful city views. What a life!
Serena Williams cars
Before she became a mother, Serena Williams used to drive around in a very fancy and very bright red Bentley Continental GT. This English two-door chariot used to be her favourite vehicle of all time, with its 8-cylinder engine, automatic transmission and breakneck speeds (up to 200 miles per hour).
That said, she is not the same woman anymore, and that car must be five years old by now, so it was time for a change. These days, Serena Williams, husband Alexis Ohanian and their beautiful daughter Alexis Olympia are seen riding in a large silver Lincoln Navigator.
Serena is a part of Lincoln’s ad campaign, and it seems like one of the perks of working with them is getting a new car! Apparently, Serena’s first car was also a Lincoln, so she probably feels like a teenager again when she is behind the wheel 🙂
As you can see, hard work and talent can get you far in this world. Thanks to both of those things, Serena Williams can enjoy her luxurious life, houses and cars, as she has worked hard for many years to get where she is now. We hope that life has many more great things in store for Serena and wish her all the best!
