Breaking: Former Oyo Deputy Speaker, Joseph Adesokan is dead
Former Deputy Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly, Chief Joseph Adesokan has died at the age of 82.
Adesokan was the Deputy Speaker in the old Oyo State House of Assembly during the second republic.
One of his children, Segun Adesokan, a lawyer and former Special Adviser on Due Process to Governor Abiola Ajimobi, confirmed his death to journalists in Ibadan on Tuesday.
p>It was reported that Adesokan was a staunch leader in the progressive circle.
He was in the Assembly between 1979 and 1983 when he was elected under the banner of the defunct Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) during the late Chief Bola Ige administration.
He was also a commissioner during late Alhaji Lam Adesina’s administration between 1999 and 2003.
