Bobrisky disputes circulating audio, denies giving EFCC officers N15 million

Popular crossdresser Idris Okuneye, better known online as Bobrisky, has refuted a claim that he accepted bribes made against him by social media influencer Martins Otse, aka VeryDarkMan.

Bobrisky alleged that some unidentified Economic and Financial Crimes Commission agents took N15 million from him in exchange for dropping money laundering accusations against him in a widely shared audio clip that was made public by VeryDarkMan.

The EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, responded to the widely circulated recording in a statement on Tuesday, stating that the Commission’s Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, has directed an urgent inquiry into the situation.

However, in an Instagram post on Wednesday morning, Bobrisky denied bribing any EFCC officer to drop money laundering charges against him, saying that he served his jail term.

The controversial social media sensation also described the viral voice recording as fake, stressing that the claim that he was never in prison was false and should be ignored.

He wrote, “My attention has been drawn to a fake voice recording circulating on the internet that I paid EFCC 15 million naira, and that I was never in prison… I didn’t pay any EFCC money, which is a very big lie. I served my term in full, and I came out. Discard any false information.”
