EPL: Leicester City coach, Puel reacts to Chilwell red card against Chelsea
Leicester City boss, Claude Puel has expressed mixed emotions following his side’s goalless draw at Chelsea on Saturday in the Premier league.
City held on for a point at the end after the sending off of Ben Chilwell.
Puel said a point at Stamford Bridge was always a positive outcome.
He also said that considering the way his team had controlled most of the game until Chilwell’s red card, he felt they deserved even more.
City created a host of chances but couldn’t apply the finishing touch but Puel said he was pleased that his side had demonstrated such quality.
“I am happy with our game of course,” he said. “It was a good game.
“It is mixed feelings. In the end, it is a good point considering it was 10 against 11 at the end after the sending off, but when we watch our game perhaps we deserved another result at the end.
“We lost two points. Of course there is a little disappointment at the end but also a good feeling because we showed our quality.
“They are champions and at home, so it was good to see my team with this quality on the pitch and all the chances we created.
“The first was harsh and the second yellow card is harsh at this moment in the game,” said Puel.
“We didn’t deserve this sending off. It was harsh but it was good to keep the point at the end. It was the minimum.”
