Paul Scholes speaks on releasing Pogba to other clubs
Manchester United legend, Paul Scholes has stated that midfielder, Paul Pogba, and other Red Devils’ players should not be kept at Old Trafford against their will.
Pogba has endured a difficult second season at Old Trafford and tension between himself and manager, Jose Mourinho has resulted in the midfielder being dropped from regular first team starter.
The France international has often been a target for criticism in games when Jose Mourinho’s side fall short, most recently the 1-0 FA Cup final loss to Chelsea last weekend.
Scholes, however, feels that if Pogba, who did ‘okay’ for United this season, is not happy at Old Trafford, the club’s board should allow him to leave.
“Once the season is over and players meet up with their international teams there are always some comments made,” Scholes told talkSPORT.
“But look, if players aren’t happy, let them go. That’s always the way I feel about it.
“Pogba has been just okay this season for a player of his quality.
“There’s still time. He’s only been there a couple of years and he’s still a young player.
“Let’s hope he produces more of his Juventus form next season.”
Meanwhile, Pogba, last week spoke about leaving United for Paris Saint-Germain.
