Acer presents new Vero PD2-series projectors with up to 18% more brightness than previous generation
The latest projectors from Acer have been unveiled in Berlin, and they have lightweight, compact plastic bodies that are nearly comparable to their PD2325W predecessor, which is available on Amazon, with up to 50% of the material said to originate from post-consumer sources.
The PD2328 upgrades even further to a WXGA (1,280 x 800) resolution and 3,700 ANSI lumens, or up to 18% brighter than their immediate PD2527i and PD2528ic predecessors.
The FHD PD2528ic, on the other hand, is rated for a new brightness level of 3,200 ANSI lumens. However, the new projectors are still guaranteed to consume less energy thanks to Eco Mode-capable LEDs with a 30,000 hour lifespan.
The new Vero PD-series devices also benefit from support for up to 10W sound via their own integrated speakers, “3D” HDMI (albeit of the 1.4a standard) and automatic keystone-finding, although USB-C is not an option. The PD2528ic is also capable of wireless projection thanks to its own integrated dongle.
It is projected to cost €799 (~$883) on its December 2024 release, while the PD2328 might not be available until January 2025 at an RRP of €599 (~$662).
