Uromi monarchs attacks Edo PDP to stop interfering into their traditional matters
Uromi Traditional Council, in Esan North- East Local Government Area, Edo State, has told the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state to stop dabbling into its traditional affairs, saying that the issue of the deposed Onojie of Uromi, HRH Anselm Aidonojie, was the business of the entire kingdom and state government and not a political affair of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
HRH Aidenojie was deposed on November 9, 2016 by former Governor Adams Oshiomhole in pursuant to Section 28 (i & ii) of the Traditional Rulers & Chiefs Law, 1979 after the expiration of seven days suspension earlier slammed on him.
However, the state Chairman of the PDP, Chief Dan Orbih, at a meeting, cautioned Governor Godwin Obaseki to stop playing politics with the traditional institution of Uromi and return the monarch to his throne.
But Secretary of the Uromi Traditional Council, Chief Francis Ozah, the Oza of Uromi, warned that the deposition of their king was not a political matter.
