Minimum wage: Organised labour, federal govt meets ahead of planned national strike
Representatives of the organised labour and a team of the federal government are currently meeting in Abuja.
The tripartite committee is meeting with the aim of preventing the planned national strike billed to commence on Tuesday.
Some of those at the meeting include: the Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed, Minister of Budget and National Planning, Udo Udoma and Labour leaders.
Recall that the organised labour had on Sunday shunned the conciliatory meeting with the Federal Government over the non-implementation of the N30,000 new National Minimum Wage for workers in the country.
Mr Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, had said the meeting was part of the exercise that should be undertaken as part of the ongoing negotiation.
He said the meeting was to ensure a complete report to be submitted to the presidency on the issue of the new national minimum wage.
