180 aspirants jostle for LG elections in Benue State
No fewer than 180 aspirants have purchased forms to contest the forthcoming local government elections in Benue State.
Out of the figure, 178 are of the All Progressives Congress (APC), while only 7 had purchased on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According to the state publicity director of the APC, John Ikwulono, 134 candidates bought forms for councillorship and 34 for chairmanship positions.
The PDP state publicity secretary, Bemgba Iortyom also confirmed that 5 candidates purchased forms for councillorship and 2 for chairmanship.
Among the aspirants are James Oche (Ado), John Uttuh (Otukpo) and many others.
He, however, said many of their members had indicated interest and would be purchasing their forms in the next few days.
