10 Nigeria Celebrities You Never Realize Look Alike
When two famous people look-alike it becomes more interesting. In Nollywood, Two actors who look-alike can even be cast as siblings or parent and child, depending on their age difference.
Often times, when two celebs look-alike, the one who attained fame first is most times seen as the original while the next is tagged an imposter or a duplicate. This may not be the case in this list, they are all originals, unique to themselves.
We’ll point out just how many celebrities closely resemble one another.

1. Genevieve Nnaji and Ivie Okujaye
Genevieve Nnaji was quite modelling before Ivie Okujaye came to limelight.
But that doesn’t mean the two don’t bear an uncanny resemblance to one another
Genevieve was a reining model and award wining actress. In In 2004 Genevieve signed a recording contract with EKB Records, a Ghanaian record label, and released her debut album “One Logologo Line”, a mix of R&B, Hip-Hop and Urban music.
In 1998 at the age of 19 she was introduced into the growing Nigerian film industry with the movie “Most Wanted”. Her subsequent movies include Last Party, Mark of the Beast and Ijele.
Ivie Okujaye, In 2009 she participated and won the Amstel Malta Box Office (AMBO) reality TV show.
Many fans pointed out that the two women are basically twins, and eagerly awaited the day they would run into each other.
2. May D and Adekunle Gold
Akinmayokun Awodumila and Adekunle Kosoko are another set of celebrities who look alike.
Adekunle Gold is an highlife singer, songwriter and graphic designer. He describes his genre of music as “urban highlife”. His 2014 single “Sade” received massive airplay on various Nigerian radio stations. His follow-up single, titled “Orente”, also received positive reviews from music critics and consumers. In 2015, he was nominated in the Most Promising Act of the Year category at the 2015 City People Entertainment Awards. His 2014 single “Sade” was nominated for Best Alternative Song at The Headies 2015. In 2015, he was signed to YBNL Nation under which he released his debut studio album Gold.
In 2011, May D became famous in the same year he got signed to Square Records label. On August 2012 it was officially announced that he is no longer in the label.
Other than their lips’ shape, the two men look identical to one another.
The two had a lot in common as their professions seems the same. Many says that May D cleared road for his younger brother to take over.
3. Davido and Sean Tizzle
Many of us love to be Davido, but there are few people out there who at least look like him.
One of them is Sean Tizzle and an unidentify boy who managed to style himself to look just like the famous singer.
Despite the post blowing up on social media, we haven’t heart Davido acknowledge his long lost twin just yet.
Although Davido started music career before Sean Tizzle, he is older than him.
4. 2baba and Joe El
Another celebrities that look alike is 2Face Idibia and Joe El.
2Baba, BlackFace and Faze were the trio that formed Plantashun Boiz band.
Plantashun Boiz released two successful albums: Body and Soul (2000) and Sold Out (2003)under the Nelson Brown’s owned Label (Dove Records) before disbanding in 2004.
Joe El was to be signed to 2Baba record label, Hypertek Entertainment but didn’t work out. When asked what happened, he said “I guess the deal did not work out because their focus was on Tuface and they did not want to sign anyone then. After that, I met Kenny Ogungbe and Dayo Adeneye. They listened to my songs; we booked an appointment and discussed the contract. A lot of people thought Kennis Music searched for and discovered me but I was the one who went in search of them.”
He also said “Tuface has inspired me a lot. Apart from the fact that we look alike, which I have been told a lot of times, he and my mum are from Benue State and we speak the same dialect. I see him as a big brother and mentor. I saw him as someone that could grant me easy access to the industry, but things did not work out the way I wanted.”
5. Funke Akindele and Adukwei Bulley
Golda Adukwei Bulley found unimaginable fame on Twitter when she shared a video of herself imitating Funke Akindele’s role as Jenifer in the hit series Jenifer diaries.
Her almost unidentifiable act to that of Funke Akindele has got social media amazed as to how she perfected the art of impersonation.
In an interview Adukwei Bulley revealed that she is a huge fan of Funke Akindele and has over the years learnt to walk, talk and dress like her.
6. Francis Duru and Sunkanmi Omobolanle
Francis Duru rose to fame in 1997 after after starring in the blockbuster movie “Rattle Snake” produced by Amaka Igwe. The movie portrays the effects of an uncaring society on a growing child and focus on the effect of child abuse and negligent. Francis Duru is one of the most gifted actors in Nollywood.
Sunkanmi Omobolanle is also an actor, born in Oyo State southwestern Nigeria. He is the son of the veteran comic actor, Sunday Omobolanle, popularly known as “Papi Luwe”.
7. Uti Nwachukwu and Gbenro Ajibade
Uti Nwachukwu and Gbenro Ajibade used to be one Nigerian celebrity duo that knew just how to rock dreads. However, after Gbenro Ajibade’s traditional marriage in 2015, he decided to leave the boys haircut for a more manly low-cut but that didn’t stop him from sharing facial similarities with the Jara host, Uti Nwachukwu. Not only are they lookalikes, they are both close pals.
Were you also one of those who mistook them to be brothers? well, you’re not alone. Uti Nwachukwu and Gbenro Ajibade share lots of similarities from their dark skin to their body structure.
8. Ade Bantu and Bryan Okwara
Ikenna Bryan Okwara is a Nollywood actor and model who rose to fame when he won the Mr. Nigeria competition in 2007. He was born on November 9, 1985.
Bryan has done many runway shows across Africa and America and has been ambassadors for top brands such as Martini, Audi, Guinness, Knorr and Globacom.
He has also delved into the Nollywood film industry with films such as Heart to Heart and I'll Take my Chances alongside top actress Ini Edo.
On the other hands, Ade Bantu is a Nigerian-German musician, producer and social activist. Adé Bantu is also the founder of the Afro-German musical collective Brothers Keepers. His band BANTU received the Kora Award (the Pan-African equivalent of the Grammy) for their album Fuji Satisfaction in 2005.
9. Akua Tokunboh and Yinka Davies
Some celebrities resent being compared to each other. But other celebrities fully embraced the hilarity of being frequently confused with someone else.
Yinka Davies Nigerian vocalist, dancer, lyricist and judge of reality show, Nigerian Idol. Yinka has been in the Nigerian entertainment industry for 28 years.
Yinka Davies was quite modelling for decades before Akua Tokunboh. But that doesn’t mean the two don’t bear an uncanny resemblance to one another.
Akua Tokunboh is a young pharmacist of Ghanaian and Nigerian descent. She won Miss Ghana USA in 2014. She serves also as a role model to many young girls of minority.
10. Nneka and Di’ja
As a young singer Nneka Egbuna first gained public attention in 2004 while performing as an opening act for dancehall reggae star Sean Paul at Hamburg Stadtpark. After much acclaim, Nneka was given a green light to record her first album.
After releasing her debut EP The Uncomfortable Truth with the music label Yo Mama’s Recording Company, she performed on her first tour with Patrice Bart-Williams in April 2005, playing shows in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Hadiza Blell better known by her stage name Di’Ja, is also a Nigerian singer and songwriter. Her music career started in 2008.
2014, Don Jazzy announced the addition of Di’Ja to Mavin Records. Her first official single under Mavin Records was also released that same day. Titled “Yaro”, it is an up-tempo celebration of love and commitment against all odds. Moreover, it infuses Hausa and Krio dialects in honour of her Nigerian and Sierra Leonean roots.
In May 2014, Di’Ja was featured on “Dorobucci” alongside label mates Don Jazzy, Dr SID, Tiwa Savage, D’Prince, Korede Bello and Reekado Banks. Di’Ja was featured on “Arise” alongside Don Jazzy and Reekado Banks. On December 15, 2017, Dija released an extended play, Aphrodija, which also features Tiwa Savage and Reekado Banks.
