THE X-FAMILY Story by Faith Lucky (Octavia and the Master)

Episode 25.

Octavia could feel a bile feeling creeping into her chest as she stared at them.

“My name is Kiara”? Really? Some ladies really have no shame, do they?
She thought angrily.

She took another bite from the meat and watched them.

Khalid stared at the lady who was obviously bluhsing in front of him.

“Okay? And what do you want?” He replied to the fact that she told him her name was Kiara.

“Oh! Nothing! I…I just…” She paused and giggled. “I just came over with my friend to get some fruits and… I kind of noticed you. You’re looking so handsome”.

Hn?? Octavia’s brows knitted.

“”You know ..” the lady continued. I’m kind of new here in the city and to be honest, you’re the first handsome dude I’ve seen so far. The rest just keep looking like rams” she paused and laughed again.

Octavia lookedat Khalid’s face. Shouldn’t he bluhsing or soemthing? But his eyes were still damn cold. Well, thank goodness. They were to her own benefit.

Something in her guts wanted to distract him; wanted to call him so he’d leave the lady. But she couldn’t call him by his name. And she knew she couldn’t call him Master in front of the lady either. She might just think she was more of a slave to him or something.
Gosh!

“I’d really want us to be friends, mister. Should we exchange contacts?”

Okay. And that was the height of It. The moment she said that, that was the level Octavia could take.

She focused on the lady’s legs, released her powers and made her get swept off her feet.

“Argh!” The lady shrieked as her butts landed on the floor.
Khalid’s eyes went to Octavia immediately.

“Oh…” The lady moaned out and managed to stand on her feet.
Then, she turned angrily to Octavia.

“Hey, you! I know what you did! Touch me again and I’ll make you crippled for life! She half-yelled.
“If it wasn’t for the fact that you were pregnant, I’d have done it right away’.

Octavia was gob smacked. Huh? She was also supernatural?

“Kiara” Khalid finally called and the lady turned around to look at him, still fuming.
“Get out”.

Her eyes glinted immediately.

“I didn’t mean any harm. I…I was just…”

“You can make her crippled, but you can’t make me crippled. So leave” he interrupted her in that deceivingly calm tone of his.

The lady glared hard at Octavia. She’d been making progress with this guy. Good thing the b!tch had to interfere and ruin everything.

She fisted her hands and walked away and Octavia took in a deep breath as she did.
Wow! She had no idea she was dealing with someone like her.

Well, either ways, if there had been a fight, she was sure she’d have won.

“Are you done?” Khalid asked as he touched his jaw and moved closer to her

“Um…not really. I mean, yes. I just need more sticks”: Octavia replied nervously as she turned back to the man and took about 4 more sticks from him.

“Octavia, are you sure of eating all of these?” Khalid asked.

“Yes, of course. And as for the fruits, they can always be finished tomorrow” she replied quickly, hoping he didn’t want her to return any of the fruits.

Khalid asked as the seller for the bills and paid him off.

“Can we go now?” He asked and Octavia nodded.
But still, she felt reluctant. She didn’t want to leave yet. Not so soon.
Going back to the clan, she’d become so bored because she’d keep seeing the same view and receiving the same air.
But out here, she gets to breath freely – new things to see and lots of places to go .

Khalid turned and began walking towards the car and of course, she followed, not having a choice.

If he were to be her boyfriend, she was sure she’d have been able to ask him for anything. Too bad, the circumstances were different.

Shortly,an idea niggled at her. Not really an idea, because the pain came hitting at her almost immediately.

“Argh!” She cried out as she fell on her knees, her hand over her tummy.
Khalid stopped abruptly and turned to look at her.

“Octavia?” His voice was still calm tho, as he walked towards her.

“Oh! I’m sorry, it ..it just hurts” she bit her lower lip painfully and groaned.

“What’s wrong?” Khalid asked almost gruffly.

“I… I don’t know. My waist…it just hurts.. I’m sorry” she whimpered.

Khalid felt it was the usual complications from the baby and a slight worry gripped him.

He held her shoulders and lifted her from the floor, his hands going round her waist in support.

“Do you think we should go to the hospital now? Like Leo said?” He asked.

“N..no. I don’t think that’s a good idea – not now. I just… I just need to rest my waist for now. Please..if we could just find somewhere to sit for a few minutes”. Octavia said and Khalid sighed and looked around.
He hated being out in the open for too long.

He scoured round for a quiet place and finally found one under a tree.

“Come on” he mumbled and started taking her towards the tree.

Octavia’s joy knew no bounds. Although, she wasn’t completely faking the pains as it was just like the previous ones – a sharp pain on her lower abdomen.

But getting to know Khalid was giving into her request by taking her to the shade was an happiness she couldn’t explain. Oh! She felt so glad!

They got to the tree and Khalid made her sit there on the pavement.

“You feel better now?” He asked and Octavia nodded slowly, hoping he was going to sit next to her
And he did.

“We can’t stay here for long, Octavia” Khalid said, just staring into space.
“I have so many things to do”.

“Yes Master. I’m… I’m really sorry for eating into your precious time”. She said innocently and brought out a stick of meat.
Thinking of it, the all – talked about camp was in less than 30 hours.
Hmm. Octavia didn’t need anyone to tell her it was going to be damn hot and Maybe, bloody. Because most of the Masters’ been waiting for that opportunity so they could contest for the new X-leader.

The X-family had 12 masters in total. 12 freaking Masters who were all blood-thirsy.
Definitely, the elections would never go without some bloodshed.

“Master” her timid voice called out to Khalid who turned to look at her.
She was holding an extra stick with her.

“Would you… want to have a taste?” Sbe asked, holding the extra stick to him.

“No” Khalid said and looked away
Her heart skipps whenever he says a word or made an action. Gosh! He was just too cute.

“Please…? I really want you to have it” she offered him again.

“I don’t eat beef, Octavia” he explained more.
Huh? Why? Octavia felt like asking him but restricted herself.
Who doesn’t eat meat?? Seriously??

She kept the extra stick back into her leather and focused on the one she had before.

In less than five minutes, she was done with two other sticks.

“Octavia, we need to leave now. You can rest more when we get to the camp” Khalid said and Octavia felt a little sad.
Oh… they were going to leave for good this time around.

“Master…” She suddenly called and Khalid looked at her.
“Can I… ask for one last favor?”

Khalid was almost tempted to say no. What else would she possibly want to buy?

“What is it?” He asked gruffly, looking at her.

“Please, promise me you won’t get mad?” Her voice sounded more timid.

“I can’t make an unknown promise, Octavia. What is it?” He asked.

“Please.. just promise me?” It was taking her a lot of nerves to do that.

At that moment, Khalid knew it had nothing to do with “buying”.

“Okay. I won’t” he replied and she told in a deep breath.

She’s always wanted to do this…always.

She clasped her palms together on her legs, then leaned closer and pecked him on the lips.
