THE X-FAMILY Story by Faith Lucky (Octavia and the Master)

Episode 24.

Becca stood in front of the window in the room and couldn’t believe her eyes.

Khalid and Octavia? Going out – alone?
Where were they going to?

“Pamela?” She called her friend who was standing behind her “What do you think is going on? Where’s Khalid taking her?”

Pamela was confused and didn’t know what to think.

“Um…Myabe… to the hospital for a proper checkup? I heard Leo had recommended she was takn to the hospital for an X-ray so they could confirm if the baby was still alive, or dead”. She found something to say, but the reply wasn’t pleasing to Becca at all.

Why was this lady trying to ruin her happiness in the camp?

Long before she arrived, she’d been so happy with Khalid. Despite the fact he could he grumpy at times, at least, she was still the only one in his heart. She was the only lady that could be seen beside her.

But not until thar petty witch arrived and decided to ruin everything for her – every single thing.

She was a member of the X-family, yet no single guy aside Khalid has ever crossed her legs. What sort of nonsense is thar? Why must she be given such preferential treatment?

She could remember some years ago, when a particular lady like Octavia had come into the clan and tried acting the same. Her name was Tanya. She wanted to belong to the X-family, but she hated being touched and wouldn’t let any of the boys have s.ex with her.

Becca could clearly remember what Khalid had done to that lady. He had made three boys have forceful s.ex with her, and when they were done, he sent her away, threatening to kill her the next time she returned to the clan.

But why was Octavia’s case different? Octavia had acted just like that lady. Why was her own case different? What is Khalid doing?

She took in several deep breaths, trying to calm her nerves down because.. damn! She felt so angry!! So so angry.

Well, her how still stands. Octavia would only be permitted to carry that baby in her womb, only when she’s dead.

Octavia’s cheeks were getting really heated up as she sat next to Khalid in the moving car.

He didn’t want some company? But why? Oh! She really was not expecting them to go alone.

She didn’t even know what to do. So, she just fiddled with her nails on her laps.

And Khalid didn’t say a word either.

Then, he suddenly turned on the car’s FM, easing the tension in the car as a cool song began playing from it.

Octavia still felt nervous, tho. Like… everything in her body kept screaming to her – you’re sitting next to Master Khalid. The thought was a little bit frightening. She could recall the first day she’d arrived at the clan. Even before she met him, Mica had made her so so scared, she thought he was a devil.

Well, he is a devil , just that, she gets so lucky when it comes to him. And she couldn’t tell why.

Khalid soon brought out a cigarette, litted it and started taking some drags from it.

Octavia looked at him with furrowed brows. Uh-uh. He was going to choke her. Damn it!

She looked away and tried holding her breath so she doesn’t inhale too much of the smoke. And thinking of it, since she’d become a member of the Khalid clan, she’s never gotten drunk, or smoked before. Hmph.
To be honest, sometimes, she felt she was the only one different in the clan.

Few seconds later, and she was coughing.

“What is it, Octavia?” Khalid asked gruffly.
It didn’t occur to him it could be the cigarette because that wasn’t the first time he was smoking next to her.

“I’m… I’m sorry Master. It’s just…” She paused and coughed again. “I don’t like the smoke”.

Khalid looked at the burning cigarette in his hand.

“I don’t understand” he scoffed. “You want me to stop smoking or what?”

“No, no. I… I didn’t say so. You can… continue smoking. I’ll just… I’ll just managed. Don’t worry about me” she answered and took her lower lip into her mouth, staring away.

Khalid was a little shocked. So, smoking affects her now? For real!

He shook his head and threw the cigarette out the window and Octavia breathed out in relief. She’d really been praying he’d do something like that – really. Because the smoke had been choking her.

Khalid noticed how she sighed and when she realized he did, she bit her nails.

The car finally came to a stop and Octavia couldn’t be anymore happy because she really needed to exercise her legs.

Even before Khalid had taken out the car key, she had already opened her own door and stepped out of the car.

“Ah!” She exclaimed joyfully as she stretched her hands and legs. But as soon as Khalid came out of the car, she became still.

She looked ahead and saw what she could call a fruits quarters.

Woah!! She gasped as her eyes beamed – exactly what she wanted.

There were so many people selling assorted fruits and the place looked so busy. Khalid surely knows his way around here, huh?

“Come on” Khalid said as he started walking towards the direction and of course, Octavia followed, trying so hard not to swing her arms and legs.

As she walked a little behind him, she couldn’t help but admire his manly features, his appearance and the way he walked with so much superiority. Even if this guy was to dress like a popper, she was pretty sure people would still fear and respect him.

They finally got to the fruits corner and as they did, Octavia could notice a lot of ladies stealing glances at them. Not Just at them, but at Khalid. Hmph

If not for the fact that she wasn’t so free with him yet, she’d have wrapped her arm around his.
But hell, no. She doesn’t have tow heads yet.

“Oh..” Octavia salivated at the fresh assorted fruits in different tables in front of her.

The apples there were so big and red, the bananas were damn yellow, the strawberries, grapes, oranges…

“Master…” She turned to Khaklid and called. She couldn’t help it.
“Can I… take other things aside bananas and apples?”

Khalid touched his left brow

“Go ahead ans take all you want, Octavia” he replied and her eyes beamed.

She turned to one of the fruits Sellers and requested for a polythene bag and as soon as it was given to her, she started picking out all the fruits she wanted.

The bag was almost full by the time she was done, but Khalid couldn’t be any more surprised.

He paid for the fruits and they left the scene.

Octavia brought out an apple from the bag and started munching on it as they walked back to the car.
Oh! She really didn’t want to go – not now.

Suddenly, she saw a place where some sauced meats were being prepared and her eyes beamed as usual
Oh, damn it! She needed those.

“Um….Master” she called. “Since we’re already here,and you know it’s impossible to get such thing in the camp, can we just…get those meats? Please?”

Khalid followed the direction of her eyes and saw the meats she was referring to. For real?

He bit a little of his lower lip, seemingly in thoughts and Octavia felt every part of her skin developing goosebumps.

Khalid didn’t say a word but only started walking towards the direction and Octavia smiled triumphantly and followed.

Yes! She was getting them! She was!

She hastened her steps to meet up with Khalid.

She took out another apple from her bag and continued munching on it as they approached the meat seller and… Good heaves! The smell was so overwhelming for her, she could hardly breathe and hardly wait to start taking the pieces into her mouth.

“Go on and get what you want” Khalid told her and she nodded and ran towards the man’s table.

“How much for these?” She asked as she took up one stick and started eating from it immediately.

“Those are just 10 bucks each”‘ the man replied and Octavia’s eyes dimmed.
10 whaaat??

“That’s too expensive!” She exclaimed and took another bite.

She turned to look at Khalid and to her surprise, she found him standing with a lady.
What??

“Hi. My name is Kiara” the lady said with a broad smile.
