[STORY] THE X-FAMILY (Season 02 Episode 22)

Episode 22.

Octavia had gone back to sleep a short time after her dazed conversation with Khalid. And as soon as she was asleep, Khalid left,telling Leo to update him on her condition – if there should be any updates.

Octavia had slept for a really long time and the next time she went awake, Mica was the one on khalid’s seat.

“Octavia” Mica called calmly, placing her hand on her shoulder. “You’re awake. Can you hear me?”

Octavia shut her eyes and opened them again. Her head was feeling lighter than it was. Meaning she was feeling a little better.

“Khalid…” She called, staring at the seat.

“Yes. And Octavia, you were making a big mistake a while ago. You called him by his name. That should never have happened” Mica said quickly.
She’d been dying to bring up the topic.

Octavia’s brows arched.

“Did I?” She asked, looking surprised.
“How…how can I do such a thing?”

“Of course, you did. Don’t you remember?”

‘i… I do. I mean…I don’t” she paused and touched her forehead.
“I can remember a lot of things but…my head is just so hot, I can’t…”

“It’s fine. You shouldn’t rack your head over it” Mica told her and she took In a deep breath to stop thinking.

Although, the memories were a little blur, she could recall some important things – like the apples.

“Mica” she called. “The Master said… he’ll be taking me out to buy apples as soon as I get better today”.

Mica scoffed. “Khalid?’

“Y…Yes. I…I really need to go out of here. I need to step out of the clan. So, I need to get better today. Can you help me achieve that?”

Mica was amused as it was more like a drama going on.

“Well… I’d love to, Octavia. But that depends on you. Getting better is in your hands”. She said.

“Okay. Um…maybe you should get me some food first. Get me soemthing to eat so I can regain my energy. And I… I think I need some beef stew, some salads and bananas” Octavia sakd.

“You can’t find bananas in the clan, Octavia. Unless you go out to get them”.

Urgh!! More reason she needs to get well so she can go out with Khalid.

“Okay. Just get me the ones you can. Thank you”. She replied and Mica nodded and left.

As soon as Octavia was done eating, she told Mica to take her back to the room as she didn’t want to stay there at Leo’s room anymore and Mica did.

As they walked, Octavia could tell she was feeling really strong and better than she was a while ago and at a point, she asked Mica not to support her anymore so she could walk on her own.

They got to the room and Octavia took herself to the bathroom for a bath. Although, she was trying so much to get better, she still felt sharp pains on her waist, almost making her feel tired. Oh God! She really wanted to get rid of these pains. And she felt so worried for the baby as well.

Was it still alive? How can she be so sure?

She had to admit it – yes, she had wanted to get rid of the baby initially, but right now, it meant so much to her and she didn’t want to lose it anymore. She felt so scared and really wanted to have it to herself. She wanted to give birth to her child.

She placed her hand on her tummy as she stood under the shower. Mica had told her Leo said he couldn’t feel any heartbeat and that made her so worried. Could the baby perhaps, be dead? And she was carrying a dead foetus in her womb already?

No. That could never happen – never. She didn’t even want to think of it.

Little tears streaked her cheeks and got mixed with the water and after a while, she was done bathing and returned to the room.

Becca fumed as she stood outside the room, in front of the boys.

“What is wrong with you, Santa? I said let me in!” She snapped.

“I’m sorry Becca, but I’ve explained this to you already. Khalid said he doesn’t want to be disturbed” Santa replied perfunctorily.

“He doesn’t want to be disturbed or he doesn’t wanna see me?” Becca scoffed.
“Listen, this is really important, okay? I just… I just need to talk to him”.

“You can check up on him later, but not now”.

Becca’s heart was tearing apart. Damn it!
She felt Khalid was mad at her and just needed to see him to dispel the feelings. She needed to talk to him and get rid of any suspicions in his heart – if at all he had any.

“Fine” she rolled her eyes and mumbled, then walked away.
But she didn’t go far and decided to hang around to see when he’d come out – if at all he would.
Well, she hoped he would because she really needed to see him.

It was getting dark already. Octavia stood in front of the mirror, taking a good look at herself.

“Mica, I think I’m feeling better now” she said.
Mica was folding up some clothes on the bed.

“Really” She scoffed. “Octavia, are you just doing this because you really want to go out with Khalid or what?”.

“Well, that’s one of the main reasons. And as for the other reason, it’s because I really don’t want to be weak anymore” she answered honestly.

She turned away from the mirror and faced Mica.

“Mica…how do I…How do I tell him I’m ready?” She asked and Mica was almost forced to laugh.

“Are you kidding me? How else would you tell him aside going to his room?”

“No! No! I can’t do that. I mean…” She paused and took the nearest seat, placing her palms on her cheeks.
“I can’t just go to his room, Mica. Don’t you understand?”

Mica looked at her sister and couldn’t believe she was actually blushing. For really?

“You know…I was slightly unconscious when I was saying all those things to him. And right now…I really can’t go to him again. Please Mica, please. Help me tell him..!”

“What?? Are you crazy? I’m not doing that, Octavia”.

“Oh, please! My life’s at stake here. If I don’t eat those apples and bananas, I might not survive it” she placed her palms together and begged.

“Then forget it, Octavia. If you can’t do it, you let it go” she stated bluntly.

“Oh, Mica! Come on. Please…”. Her voice cracked like she wanted to cry.
She bent her head pathetically and stetrrd making little sounds and Mica could hardly believe it. .

“Seriously?” She mumbled. “okay, fine. Fine. I’ll go, okay? Just stop playing with my conscience” she rolled her eyes as she dropped the cloth she was holding and left the room.
And Octavia smiled.

“Ouch!” She suddenly winced and held her waist when she felt some pains again.
Oh God! Would this ever stop?

Mica felt a little tensed going to the Master’s room to tell him “her sister was ready to go get the apples and bananas”. Like, what the hell? How can she send her on such errands? And she completely had no idea why she couldn’t just resist her tears and stand on her “no”.
Instead, here she was, running the errand for her.

She got to his block and started walking towards the direction of his room, but getting there, she surprisingly found Becca hanging around.

Huh?

Becca also seemed surprised when she had seen Mica. Was she going to Khalid’s room? For what reason?

“Mica” she called and Mica stopped walking.
Then, she moved closer to meet her.

“Are you… going to Khalid’s room?”

“Yeah” Mica answered simply.

“Oh. What for?”
Becca felt it had to do with Octavia.

“I don’t think that should be any of your business, Becca” Mica answered bluntly, earning a flinch from Becca.

She tried walking away, but suddenly stopped and looked at her.

“You know, I know what you did” she continued. “I know you tried to hurt Octavia”

“And what the hell are you talking about?” Becca scoffed.

“Cut the pretence, Becca. It’s just you and me. So, I think we should be a little honest” Mica said

“I know you feel hurt by my sister, but she isn’t the reason for your misfortune. And now, I just want to pass a fair warning to you. The next time you try to hurt her, I’ll kill you for it, Becca; believe me. I’ll damn the rules, and kill you”.
And with that said, she walked away.
