[STORY] THE X-FAMILY (Season 02 Episode 17)

Episode 17.

“Octavia!” Mica called as soon as she opened the door..

She sprang up from the bed where she sat and ran up to embrace her.

“Hey; how did it go? How’re you feeling?” She asked after the brief hug, scrutinizing the look on her sister’s face.

“He…He knows” Octavia’s voice was plain. “He knows I’m pregnant – Khalid”.
Mica sighed and turned away. She’s been expecting this.

“I…I don’t know who told him, Mica. I don’t know how he found out. But I didn’t…”

“I told him” Mica cut in and Octavia’s eyes dimmed.

Whaaat???

“You…You did!” Sbe asked, really surprised.

“Yeah. I’m sorry, I had to. It’s complicated but…he was on my neck and I had to spill the truth”.

“Oh” Octavia mouthed and stared at the floor.
It all explans how he’d gotten to know in the first place. She’s been wondering…

“So, what happened? How did it go?” Mica looked at her and asked, curiously and it brought some of the hurtful memories to Octavia.

“He…” She stared blankly at the floor. “He’d called Leo and aasked him to run a test on me. I… I think he actually wanted Leo to terminate the baby, but…Leo told him my life would be at risk if we made an attempt again because…The pills I’d previously taken had put the baby at risk. So, we can’t make another attempt now”

“In conclusion, you mean the baby cannot be removed!” Mica asked and she nodded affirmatively.

“Oh God!” She sighed and plonked herself on the bed.

Octavia studied her reaction and knew for sure there was going to be a big problem.

“This is all my fault” Mica mumbled regrettably. “I should’ve gotten you those pills on time”.

Octavia quietly went to sit next to her on the bed.

“I just…I just thought it’s one of those things where…a Lady could have s*x for sometime without getting pregnant”. She added.

“What do I do, Mica? I’m worried. I…I don’t think I can carry this,I mean…here in the clan” Octavia grouse, but Mica had nothing to say.

“Do you think… Khalid would chase me out?” She asked and Mica muttered “I don’t know”

She really had no idea.

“He’s never going to accept this. There’s nothing going on between us. I shouldn’t be carrying this for him” her her hand moved upto her flat tummy.

A short silence ensued between them.

“But…is it possible for someone to get pregnant for a clan Master?” Octavia broke the silence.

“Of course, it is. But…the few I’ve heard of, it’s usually from the Master’s girlfriends. It has never happened between an ordinary clan member and the Master. So, I’d say it’s almost impossible, Octavia”. Mica answered, making the whole situation worst for Octavia.

“Do you know how….I was released from Master Klaus?” She asked after a little while.

“Khalid sacrificed a lot bringing you back, Octavia. He had to use our only defense against the Klaus clan” Mica replied.

“Only defense? How?”

Mica went ahead to explain everything to her – how Klaus had asked Khalid to step down from the elections else he was going to kill her, and Khalid had to use the bombs they had in his building.

It’s been a long time already since Octavia was released, and they were sure Klaus must’ve located the rest of the bombs already and disabled them.

Octavia was speechless after listening to the whole story. She really couldn’t believe it. Khalid had taken such risk forbher? But….

“You should wait here, Octavia. I’ll get you something to eat” Mica said as she stood up and left the room, while Octavia went into deep thoughts.

After Mica returned with the meal, she ate to her satisfaction due to how hungry she had been and after that, she went deep to sleep.

She didn’t know for how long she slept before Mica had woken her up.

“Hey, Octavia. Octavia” she called and tapped her repeatedly.

Octavia groaned as she forced her eyes open. Damn it! She was really having the rest she desired.

“What is it, Mica?”

“It’s Khalid. He wants you in his room” Mica replied and the usual heartbeats in Octavia resumed.
Whaaaat?

“Wh…Why?” She stuttered, despite the fact it was dumb.

“How will I know that, Octavia? Come on, you need to hurry up”.

Octavia quickly left the bed and found something else to wear beneath his shirt.

But why was he calling for her? Gosh! She felt so nervous.

Maybe, he finally wanted to give her a piece of mind on the baby. Maybe..to tell her to leave the clan or something else

Goodness! She never thought she could be this anxious in her entire life – never..

She walked out of the room and met the guard who had been assigned to call her at the doorstep. And without delay, she followed him to the Master’s room.

She wished their steps would be slackened so they could take longer time to get there, but unfortunately for her, nothing could be delayed.

They got to Khalid’s door and when the guard knocked on it, he responded as usual – Let her in”.

The guard pushed the door open and awaited Octavia to walk in and she did.

Her hands were in front of her, clasped together so they don’t visibly shake; and she met Khalid in the room, arranging some things in the wardrobe.

“G…Good evening, Master” she almost stuttered.

“Take a seat” his voice came almost immediately and Octavia dragged her legs to the bed to sit.

At least, she didn’t have to stand because she was damn tired

Khalid continued doing whatever it was he doing in the wardrobe and the boredom was actually making Octavia feel dizzy.

She snapped her eyes open when she heard his footsteps and saw him walking away from the wardrobe to the table.

“I’ve made my decision, Octavia” he began and Octavia felt her legs growing so cold.
Oh God! This is it!

“Since your life is in danger at the moment, I wouldn’t want to name an attempt in harming the baby. So, you’ll be allowed to carry the child and…put to bed. And after that, we’ll know the next step to take”

Octavia gulped nervously.

Oh God! She was really going to carry the child; carry Khalid’s child?

“You’ll be limited from carrying strenuous task and… I’ll make sure you get all the support you need” he continued, queing to Octavia’s anxiety.
“What do think?” He added.

She looked up at him but quickly brought her gaze back to the floor when he was staring directly at her.
Did he just ask what she thinks?.

“I…I really don’t know, Master. I mean… I’m thankful… I’m grateful for…No, I’m just…

“I mean, I’m happy you’re giving me your support. But…for now, I think I really need to eat some apples”.
