THE X-FAMILY Story by Faith Lucky (Octavia and the Master)

Episode 11.

Khalid was still motionless, didn’t say a word as he listened to the call.

Klaus couldn’t hide his surprise any longer and scoffed.

“Are you even listening to me, Khalid?” Anger was cohorent in his voice.

Then, Khalid breathed out and finally said: “you must be a fool Klaus, to think I’d ever such a thing. Stepping down for you – is something I’ll never do even in death”.

Klaus vibrated in anger and mockery all through but tried all he could not to let it show.

“Well…” He sighed and said. “I’d have killed her right away, since your decision is already made. But then…she still has 12 hours to live. So, I’ll keep that promise. Bye” And he dropped the call.

Khalid clenched his fists as he brought the phone down from his ear and turned around to face the balcony.

He could feel it – that anger. But it was something he wasn’t ready to do. Never.

He walked back to the room and met his boys still waiting.

“And where the hell is Mica?” He tried not to sound gruntful.

“She’s still with…”

“Bring her to me. Now!”

*********************

“Mica?” Draco callee as he turned into Leo’s room and found Mica sitting on the bed, her stabbed arm having a bandage on already.

“The hell! You’re okay. I was so worried” his brows arched as he sat in front of her on the bed.

“I’m… I’m fine, Draco. Thanks” she answered feebly, feeling so weak from the thoughts that her sister had been kidnapped.

Leo was busy with some other things, mixing other herbs and the rest and didn’t have time to look at Draco.

“How did it happen? Why weren’t you careful?” Draco scolded a little.

“Of course, I was careful, Draco. We didn’t expect it” she sighed and rubbed her forehead.

She felt so much pains in her heart and felt it was all her fault her sister got kidnapped. It didn’t make any sense, but still, she blamed herself for it.

“The Master wants you in his room – now” Draco told her and her jaws clenched.

“Goodness! Is he gonna punish me?” She asked breathlessly.

“I don’t know, Mica. Master Klaus was behind the abduction. And he called Khalid just a while ago. He wants the Master to step down as one of the nominators for the clan leader, else, he’s threatening to kill Octavia”.

“What??” Mica moved back a bit.

“What the…What the hell?? Why would he do such a thing? I mean…Why would he think Khalid would do such a thing? He’s only looking for an excuse to kill my sister!”

“I’m sorry Mica. But right now, I don’t even know what Klaus is thinking. Khalid would never break down for anyone. All the clan Masters knows this. So, I sincerely don’t know why Klaus would even give it a try” Draco reminiscinced bitterly.

“He’s going to kill her, Draco” Mica winced and stood up. “He’s going to kill her. He’ll kill my sister!”

Leo had also turned around to look at them, being baffled by the news.

“Hey Mica, calm down” Draco stood up and held her hand, but she moved away.

“Calm down? I can’t calm down, Draco knowing my sister will be killed. She’s all I have left. And doesn’t deserve this”.

For the first time in a long time, she bursted into tears and Draco pulled her into a hug.
*
*
Being the kind of person she was, she didn’t cry for long as after a long little while, she was sitting on the bed with Draco still in front of her.

“Khalid would never step down from such postion to save Octavia” Leo noted, leaning on the table closeby.

“Klaus is just being stupid”.

Mica bent her head the whole time, rethinking her misfortune.

But she had no idea soemthing of that such was ever gonna happen. Else, she wouldn’t had left the building. Oh! Damn it! She had no idea!!

And she couldn’t believe she was going to lose her sister so easily. She knows Khalid – he was never going to make such sacrifice for anyone – not even for Becca. And there was no way he could initiate a war

Her sister was just going to die for nothing – with the unflushed baby still in her.

The door opened shortly and this time around, it was Susan – Becca’s roommate.

“Oh? Mica” she called and took a look around the room.

Mica was silent.

“Thank goodness you’re okay. Just heard the entire incidence and I must say it’s really tragic for someone like you. So sorry, dear”.

“Thanks” Mica mumbled and lowered her gaze to the floor.

A short silence stepped in.

“Um..Mica, can I have a word with you, please? Outside?” Susan said and Mica looked at her.

A word? Whatever it was,. It should be something important.

She nodded and stood up and the two ladies walked out together.

“Hey; what’re you doing, Mica?” Susan growled as soon as they were standing alone.

Mica was confused and just stared at her.

“Your sister is in danger. And the only person Powerful enough to save her right now is Khalid. Why are you hesitating?” Susan pressed on and Mica couldn’t hide her amusement any further.

“I don’t get you, Susan. What’re you talking about?” She scoffed.

“Well…why don’t you tell the Master your sister is pregnant for him?” She asked and Mica’s eyes dilated in shock.

She gasped and looked around to be sure no one was listening. Holy Crap.

“Susan! How the hell did you know that?!?” She rasped.

“Just relax, okay? I…I overheard you both arguing about it in the room the other day. I didn’t mean to eavesdrop, it just happened. But trust me, I didn’t tell anyone”.

“Dammit” Mica groaned and turned around, backing her.

“This could be an opportunity, Mica. You need to give a thought to it” Susan said.

“And you really think Khalid would buy it?” Mica scoffed and turned to look at her.

“You and I both know Khalid would’ve asked for the same thing – a termination. And I see no reason he would take such sacrifice for her”.

“Well…” Susan sighed. “she’s your sister, Mica. And if I were you, I’d take every single opportunity I have to save her”.

And with that, she walked away, leaving Mica in total confusion.

Draco came out of the room afterwards.

“Mica, we need to leave now. Khalid has been waiting for too long already” he told her and Mica had no option but to follow him.
*
*
Throughout the walk to the Master’s room, she looked like a ghost, deep in thoughts.

At some point, Susan’s words made sense to her – giving it a try. Even if it sounded impossible and senseless, she still felt like giving it a try since it was the only option she had left.

But how would she even tell it to the Master? What would his reaction be? What if he just ignores it and goes ahead to punish her instead! She was definitely gonna be ruined.

They got to the door and met two guards there – Moscow included.

He glared at her as Draco opened the door and walked in with her.

“Leave us, Draco” Khalid said immediately and Draco didn’t hesitate to leave.

Khalid was standing in front of his mirror table, smoking shisha this time around.

The smoke was extreme and if it wasn’t for how strong Mica was, she’d have broken down – choking.

“Good day, Master” she greeted with a bow, but Khalid didn’t turn to look at her or even respond.

He dropped the shisha and opened a bottle of wine instead.

“You know why you are here, Mica. Go on” he spoke in a husky voice, still backing her.

Mica fisted her hands beside her and looked at the floor. Sincerely, she didn’t know exactly what he wanted. But she knows Khalid too well not to give him an empty answer.

“I’m sorry Master. We were just on our way to…to have a check up at the hospital and…”

“With who’s permission?” He cut her off and her heart skipped a bit.
Hell no. She couldn’t implicate Draco.

She searched her mind for words, but before she could find a suitable lie, she felt something grip her neck.

“Agh!” She grunted as the invisible force gripped her roughly and lifted her off her feet, choking her.

No doubt, it was Khalid who had turned around to look at her.

“No… please” she struggled to say, her legs dancing in the air.

Khalid glared at her and finally released his hold on her, making her drop on her knees on the floor.

She gasped for air and coughed slightly.

“You should know me, Mica. I hate being lied to. Now, talk to me while you still can” he spoke irascibly, taking some steps closer to her and Mica’s muddled head spun for the only option she had left

“We were going to get rid of her baby” she cried out.
Khalid stopped walking.

“She’s pregnant and…and we were trying to get rid of it. I’m sorry…”
